Sandra Fluke Hits Back At Monica Crowley

Earlier this week, Sandra Fluke announced she's engaged. So how did classy Monica Crowley react? By tweeting, "To a man?" UPDATE: Crowley has issued a BS apology "to Sandra & anyone else I offended."

Appearing on The Ed Show, Fluke said, "Where I’m from, when someone tells you they’ve become engaged, you say, 'Congratulations,' rather than engaging in hate speech,” she said.

Rather than offer the kind of apology she'd surely demand from a liberal tweeting such a thing about a conservative woman, classy Crowley originally doubled down by sneering that liberals can't take a joke.

Fluke said, "I don't want an apology from anyone personally. I think it's possible that she owes an apology to the LGBTQ community because I'm not offended to be asked whether or not I'm with a woman. That's, it's not offensive to me... But it was clearly meant as an insult but that is homophobic and offensive."

Personally, I think Fluke is being too academic. While I applaud her defense of the LGBTQ community, Crowley's dig was at her, not them. They were just her vehicle for denigration. In my view, Crowley was being vicious every bit as much as she was being homophobic and she should be called on that and denounced for that. And she should apologize to both Fluke and the LGBTQ community.

UPDATE: Mediaite - which has an endless supply of credulity for Fox News - has published Crowley's tweet and called it an apology. What do you think?

Who wants to wager that Crowley will be on Hannity tonight for a bit of rehab. Hannity will try to spin this that Crowley was asking a reasonable question blah blah blah. Crowley will insist that she had no idea she could have offended anyone. And everyone will forget to mention the whole Hillary Rosen flap, since it’s not convenient now…

The only thing Monica accomplished with her comment was proving what an obvious ass kisser she is for Rush. You would think by now the right would learn whenever Sandra Flukeâs name is mentioned to either simply say âno commentâ or to turn and scream in terror in the opposite direction. Eventually you would think they would learn to not touch that hot stove anymore before comprehension sets in that they keep getting burn. Is it just me, or do these “apologies” from talk radio and Faux personalites don’t seem to have a bit of sincerity in them. Like Ellen wrote, they demand liberals get on their knees to beg for forgiveness for some perceived slight. The right prefers Twitter and their own websites on a weekend to state their “regrets”.
