Just as you might have expected, the Brexit vote brought out the outrageousness in Fox News. There was also more outrageousness about terrorism and white privilege. Check out our current crop of nominees for the Outrageous Fox Quote of the Week and cast your vote.
This week's nominees are:
“There's been more people dying from selfies in 2015 alone than have ever died in violence in abortion clinics. But nobody wants to blame the real problem...because people like blaming Christians, that's part of it.”
Donald Trump, blowing the “secret Muslim” dog whistle when asked if he believes President Obama “sympathizes with the Muslim world.”
“I don’t believe anything. I see things and whether it’s the Iran deal, whether it’s not wanting to mention the words “radical Islam” or “radical Islamic terrorism” or other things, Bill, you look at what’s going on. I mean, it’s not a question of what I think. But you look at facts. This isn’t thinking. This is facts.”
Stacey Dash, arguing that the Brexit vote is proof nobody should vote for Hillary Clinton:
"This is extraordinary evidence that socialism just does not work. It doesn’t work. And I think this is perfect. This is perfect for us and if anyone is thinking of voting for Hillary Clinton, they need to look at this and think again."
Stuart Varney, cheerleading a gunman in a movie theater in Germany as good news for Donald Trump:
“I don't know who the shooter is: his name, nationality, or wherever he came from. …Therefore, there could be political repercussions to the shooting that you're seeing on the left-hand side of the screen.
… I don't want -- I'm not going to stretch this, but a terror, if it's a terror incident or an incident of this kind, that's for Trump. That is a plus for Donald Trump, isn't it?
Leland Vittert, suggesting that the Brexit vote means Donald Trump will win in November:
"You have to wonder: For President Obama, who campaigned so strong for the 'stay in the European Union' vote, for the remain vote, you have to wonder what he’s thinking in terms of, if possible, the way that voters in the United Kingdom rejected his message, will voters in the U.S. reject his message as he speaks out against Donald Trump?"
Bernard McGuirk, sneering at those who think there’s white privilege:
"Of course, white privilege - they’re saying that it doesn’t exist. But I say it does. …We have the Congressional White Caucus. We have the National Association for the Advancement of White People. …We have White Lives Matter.
Just go down to Appalachia and ask any person how they’re doing, they’ll tell you they’re doing just fine. Anybody in a trailer park in the South, or out on Long Island, they’re doing wonderfully.
Listen Bill, if you wake up in this country, delay gratification, work hard, lose the chip on your shoulder, that’s all it takes. In this country more than any other country in the history of civilization."
