Michigan And Arizona Primary - Open Thread

Posted by Ellen -385.40pc on February 28, 2012 · Flag

I'm watching the Fox News coverage. Fox News just predicted Mitt Romney will "easily win" Arizona, "as expected." Michigan appears to be a different story. Fox is saying Romney holds a slim lead but it's too early to call. Ron Paul is predicted for third and Newt Gingrich fourth in MI.

What are you guys watching? Any thoughts?

Pig Newton’s Presidential crusade will hopefully grind to a halt after Super Tuesday. Other than possibly Georgia, he won’t win another State primary. Pig can then focus full-time on whoring up enough cash to pay off Calista’s Tiffany jewelry account.

I agree, Antoinette… whether or not Romney won tonight is debatable, like Ellen said. In terms of cold numbers, he won by a narrow margin… but did he win, or was he just the lesser evil?

But against Obama, he’s already assured his defeat with stunts like this:

MEMO TO MITT

When you’re running for president, don’t answer questions about poor people’s concerns by saying they’re jealous of you. It makes you look like a heartless douche.

In fact the only good thing about these primaries is that they are gonna tax the wallets of the Rep. doners and the general election will cost em even more. But hey. Don’t ask em to pay an extra $10 grand in taxes to help the country.

We don’t think The Mitt will beat Obama. There’s a lot of people who don’t like him. Some Bible-thumping christian conservatives consider the Mormon religion a cult, and will sit it out in November than vote for a Mormon.

Antoinette: Romney backers will still fund him because he pulls votes from Santorum.

Pretty Ricky’s mouth did him in.

The Newt’s bank vault is getting low on funds. We predict he will exit stage right, and take that stepford wife Calista with him.

Interesting notes from ABC exit poll:
Romney leaned on some of his customary support groups, notably well-off voters and senior citizens – effective elements, if not necessarily the most compelling ones for a national campaign. He won senior citizens, but split voters under age 65 with Santorum. He won $100,000-plus voters, but no other income group. He especially won $200,000-plus voters, around which it’s hard to build a slogan for the masses.

Indeed, in a result suggesting that Romney won more heads than hearts, he beat Santorum by a 2-1 margin, 54-26 percent, as the candidate seen as most likely to defeat Barack Obama in November. Yet the contest between the two in this primary was a far closer one than that.

I can’t really think of Romney as the winner tonight. He merely avoided losing, as I see it. He may still beat Obama in November but if so, it won’t be because of any momentum gained here.

CBS pointed out something interesting… Santorum has 50% with people who consider themselves to be “true” conservatives, such as Fox News viewers. Romney only has 35%.

But if you do ALL Republicans, Romney is the winner at 43% to Santorum’s 40%. Here’s the video:

Fox News has been rehabing Santorum a lot, and it shows with the “tru Paytreeit” crowd. But Romney still won. Now it’s up to delegates.

Ellen. You may have just proved the existence of god with that last post.

Bret Baier just said that the way the MI system works, Santorum could wind up with more delegates than Romney.

Now Karl Rove is on Fox to spin why this is a decisive victory for Mitt.

Shorter Romney – America is best country except for its anti-American president that was democratically elected.

Hey Mitt Rmoney, I know several people who worked very hard only to see their jobs be outsourced or eliminated so executives could get their beloved bonuses. You know all about that, right Mitt? Makes you feel all Yankee Doodle inside, don’t it?

And Obama wants to raise your taxes? Was everyone in that room the upper 1%?

There’s more blonde hair behind him than I’ve ever seen! Even the african american woman has blonde hair!

He was holding up a piece of shale and saying that companies are afraid to invest because they are wary of Obama. So why does N.D. have so many jobs for fracking that people are coming in to the state from all around to fill the job openings.
