Jon Stewart was in top form Thursday night skewering Fox News’ war on the poor. And their hypocrisy toward banksters. Have some laughs at Fox and their friends’ expense.
On his January 9th Daily Show, Stewart perfectly summed up Fox News’ “makes and takers” mentality:
We can’t make employment more attractive, we can only make unemployment less attractive. Because anything else is a moral hazard.
I think I’m beginning to get it: If it’s a policy that benefits the rich, then it doesn’t have to be paid for, should last forever, and is good for America. But if it benefits the poor, we can’t afford it, we should end it as soon as possible and it will destroy our nation from within.
Yep. That’s Fox News economics in a nutshell.

Jon Stewart often gives the only proper response to anything from Fox “News,” which is to mock them mercilessly.

@ joseph west. I agree. We should never underestimate the sheer stupidity of the typical Fux Noise viewer. If the Teabagger-Repug Party ever regains control of the White House and Congress, you can bet that Medicare and Social Security will be gutted. These same old angry white people who now rail against unemployment compensation for the poor will be scrambling to secure some crummy McJob at minimum wage.

No, sandman, it’s not self-loathing (that’s why LGBTs are Republicons); it’s sheer stupidity. Those people have been so amazingly conned into believing that, if they just work hard enough, they too can, one day, be impossibly rich. In the process, they should accept whatever scraps their employers toss them without complaining like “only docking them a day’s pay for calling in sick or showing up late because of a doctor’s appointment instead of firing their oh-so-obviously lazy asses” or “accepting the idea of working 60 hours a week for minimum wage without any overtime because they should be thankful they’ve even got a job” and “you don’t need a union because we know what’s best for you.”
