Fox & Friends Wages Class Warfare On Jon Stewart

Posted by Ellen -378pc on July 02, 2012 · Flag

You know how Fox News yells “class warfare” the moment someone talks about income disparity? Apparently, it’s OK to complain about someone else’s wealth when it’s Jon Stewart earning the big bucks. Fox & Friends, along with the Daily Caller’s Jamie Weinstein, thought it was big proof of Stewart’s hypocrisy to sneer about Stewart’s earnings and the news that he’s supposedly “on track” to being worth more than Mitt Romney. Of course, they missed Stewart’s main point, which is not that Romney is rich, per se, but that his favor-the-wealthy policies are self-serving while Stewart supports ones that are not.

Apparently, the curvy couch crew thinks that if Stewart doesn’t distribute his income more, he’s a hypocrite. But by that token, shouldn’t someone like, say, Brian Kilmeade have joined the military and fought in the wars he cheerleads?

These guys spend more on their hair styles in a given week than I make in a year. I don’t think they have a right to talk about this issue. He compares romney’s 57,000/year to Stewart’s 41,000/year. as being a little difference. that is a difference of, in a single day, 16,000, That is more than I and many americans work for and make in a single year. You make a good point Stewart is speaking in favor of taxing higher income brackets more, as opposed to Romney wanting to tax even less to give his income bracket more and more and more of what they want, and dont need….money. Romney thinks that is okay, and that I should help give his corporate supporters, and him, more money.
Romney reminds me of the hand-puppets on Mr.Rogers Neighborhood. When I was young, they used to scare the hell out of me.
Romney is one of those scary puppets. He might be a good guy behind closed doors, but as a politician, he is just plain scary, and it is horrifying if he were to win.
Romney is the puppet that will bring in an age of Corporate Fascism. Maybe even corporate world domination on a scale none of us can imagine.
The thing is, with the citizens united case, and with all the money in politics from lobbyists and corporations wanting to excuse themselves from any regulation, bribery is now legal and accepted in a government that is supposed to represent WE THE PEOPLE. We the people now includes the Corporations who are also now citizensk, thank you SCOTUS). so “WE THE PEOPLE” should read “WE THE CORPORATE ENTITIES, KNOWN AS CORPORATIONS, OR CITIZENS, NOW HAVE CONTROL OVER THOSE, THE PEOPLE, WHO RESIGNED IN WHAT WAS ONCE THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, BUT IS NOW PROUDLY CALLED THE UNITED CORPORATIONS OF AMERICA…..and soon THE WORLD.” pro-corporate legislation is already in place…hoe much more can we take until it is too late? They will say that Socialism is bad, and that is because they would hate to see a government that might enhance the well-being of the middle class as well as the country as a whole in favor of a governernment in favor of rich people and big corporations. Just wait until you see how bad Corporate Fascism can be to one’s freedom.
Thank FOX that the United Corporations of America have planted the seeds of the United Corporate Fascist States of America.

@Aria, I was being facetious and subtly pointing out that once again, when these dipshits can’t address the argument at hand, they turn to “yeah but” and change the argument.

Don: When Robert decided to show us that he thinks Stewart is serious commentary, and couldn’t find an example using income inequality.

All he’s shown us is that he doesn’t watch TDS, he just reads smear articles about them on Newsbusters, a site that’s infamous for:

A) Thinking the Daily Show is a real news show, not a spoof.

B) Not realizing that they take their A-Game jokes out there. If it doesn’t make the cut, it’s options are “later” or “never.” The end.

Peace.

When did the subject in question go from income inequality to immigration?

That segment was like watching an NFL half-time report, but the talking-heads had money on the game.

Why would the Daily Crapper, headed by Tucker Carlson, have any disparaging remarks about Jon Stewart who cut him down to size right to his face?

Aside of The Daily Show being on vacation, I don’t think Stewart would bother with this off topic / off current news when there are bigger fish to fry in the Mittens barrel.

There is so much that the right doesn’t get journalism, logical arguments… Are they saying he wouldn’t be rich if he paid everyone good salary? But where is the proof that Stewart doesn’t pay his people well? No proof, no logic, just stupid, envious opinion that I can hear at any coffee shop across the country.

And once again, the F&F stooges totally miss Stewart’s point. Seriously, are they really this stupid?! I realize that they must hate it that Stewart nails their asses to the wall time and time again by using facts, logic and humor but their attack on Stewart this morning was ridiculous.

Also, my guess is that there’s a bit more to this than meets the eye with regards to their going after Stewart. Let’s not forget that Daily Caller guy works for widdle Tucker Carlson who got his bow-tied ass handed to him by Stewart a few years ago. It was a monumental embarrassment for Carlson and most likely played a part into why Carlson now running a website instead of hosting a teevee show. Still stings, eh, Tucker?

Btw, Stewart is actually working and putting in the hours. What does Romney atually do to earn $57K a day? Perhaps they pay him that for running for President (again)? Oh wait, didn’t Romney claim to the folks that he was actually unemployed? Unemployed but getting $57K a day? Bwaaah!

One thing that I found rather peculiar is that the Stewart video they played was originally aired way back on Jan. 24, 2012. Yet they bring it up now just as Stewart is taking a 2 week vacation and can’t take them on until July 16th when he’s back? What a bunch of lame-ass cowards they’ve got over there at FOX (and the Daily Caller). LOL!

I’m no fan of Fox or Romney, but Stewart is also a hypocrite for cheerleading endless immigration and the importation of foreign visa workers favored by big business, don’t beleive me, watch this video where he deliberately left out a question by someone asking Obama why so many USA companies hire foreign engineers whan we have 1.8 million aamericans with engineering degrees that can’t get hired.

Jon Stewart is THE MAN on lying to America about immigration!

Wait…Fox and Friends are blaming the fact that Steve Carrell “doesn’t have a steady job” on Jon Stewart’s apparent hoarding of his own wealth? For a minute there I thought that Steve Carrell was a hugely successful film actor who makes millions himself, but whatever. And Steven Colbert “doesn’t have two quarters to rub together”? He has his own freaking TV show, but that obviously amounts for nothing (not that they would realize the political show that comes on right after The Daily Show).

I seriously despise Fox News. This isn’t worth reporting, but it was just a way to attack someone who is a decent humanitarian. I can’t wait for Stewart’s rebuttal.

I agree with doors…..
there is no way Fox wins this debate.

TDS is off this week. Tonight’s show is the repeat with Steve Carrell. Oh well, going to have to wait but I’m not that disappointed. That just give TDS and Stewart more time to put together what is sure to be a most entertaining response

I hope The Daily Show isn’t on vacation this week so we can hear the reaction from Jon and his writers. If they are I wouldn’t be surprised if Fox knows that hoping they can get away with it.

Once again Fox is making a big mistake picking another fight with a brilliant comedian like Jon Stewart. You would think by now they’ve learned not to touch that hot stove anymore, since every time they have done so in the past they’ve gotten burned, badly.

They pulled the same crap on celebrities that spoke at OWS rallies. Apparently, rich people who aren’t Republicans can’t support initiatives or help for the poor unless they give away all their wealth, and by proxy ending up poor themselves.

Before Stewart explains exactly what’s wrong with that logic, let’s take a shot at it.

(reviews first paragraph)… nope, if that doesn’t expain itself, there’s no hope for you.

Fox 101: Demonize the messenger rather than debate the message.

Jon will have a response for them I’m sure. They’re doing a standard Fox tactic of changing the argument. These two assclowns showed either their ignorance or very poor attempts at humor re Stephen Colbert and Steve Carrell.

@cletus. Facts also are not one of the strong suits of the curvy couch morons.

I’ve never seen nor heard Jon Stewart complain about Etch-a-Sketch Rmoney’s wealth. What I’ve seen him do is point out Rmoney’s hypocrisy and how he tries to convince everyone that he’s just like one of us…the 99%….because, you know, we all have a net worth of $250 million, own multiple cars and houses, and our best friends own NFL teams. These FoxFiends are too stupid to know the difference. But worse, the FoxGOPTV sheep will believe them.
