Yesterday, I posted about how Monica Crowley made the outlandish - and entirely unsubstantiated - suggestion the night before that women on welfare have children in order to up their relief money. Last night, Bill O'Reilly slyly validated her accusation - and yet kept his own fingerprints off it - by choosing to read a supportive email in his brief email segment at the end of the show.
According to BillOReilly.com:
On a typical news day, Bill receives roughly 4,000 emails at his [email protected] email address. These are sorted and printed for Bill several times a day, and as he has mentioned before, he personally reads through these messages and decides which ones to read on the air, or to respond to.
So ask yourself, what made O'Reilly and his producers choose this particular email to read on the air, without challenge, if not to validate the sentiment?
I agree. A possible reason may be that people on welfare have no time left after doing a long litany of occasional poorly paid and mostly undocumented jobs (the sort that neighbours invent to help out). Those welfare checks aren’t enough even for basics.
