Stephen Colbert Mocks Fox & Friends Whining About Miranda Rights Read To Boston Bomb Suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev
Stephen Colbert got in some of his brilliant zingers at Fox & Friends a few nights ago – and who could be more deserving of ridicule? Colbert caught the Curvy Couch Crew not just regurgitating the same talking points, but the exact same cliché, “singing like a canary,” which was their phrase to describe what Boston bomb suspect Dhzokhar Tsarnaev was supposedly doing until, as Colbert put it, “our secret Chechen president” “screwed the whole thing up” by advising Tsarnaev of his Miranda rights.

The day after the Boston bombing, former Democratic congressman Barney Frank expressed the belief that budget cuts make emergency response, such as that seen in Boston, more difficult. Seems like a pretty rational statement of fact but this comment sent Bill O'Reilly even further over the edge to which he is precariously clinging. As News Hounds Ellen reported, O'Reilly wasted no time in attacking Frank for having "politicized" the Boston bombing. But in the interests of "fair & balanced," O'Reilly brought Frank on The Factor so he could defend his position or, as noted on Fox News Insider, "take Barney Frank to task." And in so doing, O'Reilly scolded Frank about not waiting longer before making a political statement. But funny, O'Reilly didn't apply the same standard to a Republican sitting member of congress who did just what O'Reilly accused Frank of doing! What????

All week, Senator Rand Paul has been trying to take his foot out of his mouth over apparently contradictory remarks he made to Neil Cavuto about the use of drones. On Thursday night Sean Hannity was happy to give the Kentucky Republican and serious 2016 Presidential contender a helping hand, bringing him onto the show to explain that he hadn’t changed his position at all. Which he did, though in a rather confusing manner, adding that the controversy was manufactured by “left-wing blogs”.
Read moreChristian Jihadist Todd Starnes Uses "Baby Killers" To Describe Planned Parenthood
Much of the recent Fox News rhetoric has focused the radicalization of Tamerlin Tsarnaev who accessed incendiary jihadist websites and videos which probably trafficked in the "death to America" sort of thing. Yet, Fox News fundamentalist homophobe and ace culture clubber Todd Starnes, who refers to the Tsarnaevs' as jihadists, sent out several recent tweets which used the incendiary term "baby killers" to describe Planned Parenthood, an organization that provides a range of health care to low income women. So if one can make the argument that radical jihadist websites could contribute to homicidal ideation on the part of those who seek a scapegoat for their hatred, can we also say that the term "baby" killers could do the same - especially given the record of violence against abortion clinics and doctors? Bill O'Reilly constantly vilified Dr. Tiller and we know how that ended?!

A few nights ago, Greta Van Susteren announced that the Senate had passed a bill ending furloughs for air traffic controllers. But in case anyone thought they should let up on hateration for President Obama, she quickly moved on to say that the office implementing Obamacare. “apparently has immunity” from them. She added, “That’s right, no furloughs for Obamacare workers.” So rather than explore why the Obama administration thinks that implementing a national medical insurance plan might be more urgent than avoiding flight delays, she brought on a Republican Congressman who threw unsupported accusations that the Obama administration is deliberately trying to harm Americans. Van Susteren let those accusations go without challenge.

Barney Frank appeared on The O’Reilly Factor last night to rebut Bill O’Reilly’s attacks on him in the aftermath of the Boston bombings. You may recall that two nights after the bombings, O’Reilly spent three segments attacking Frank for having politicized the attacks. Or, to put it another way, playing the victim so that he, O’Reilly, could use that as an excuse to smear Frank for political gain. O’Reilly was deliberately vicious, saying at one point that he and Dennis Miller should go to Frank’s house, drag him outside and humiliate him. But tonight, in a face-to-face confrontation with Frank, O’Reilly insisted his only interest was in Americans “coming together.” And Frank mostly let him get away with it.

Glenn Beck will leave no stone unturned to get on TV get to the truth in the case of a Saudi national questioned and then released just after the Boston Marathon bombing. Last night, barely half an hour after Bill O’Reilly promised to quash any high profile person who “spout[ed] gibberish about deadly terrorism” he listened patiently while Beck spouted huge gobbets of gibberish about a Department of Homeland Security “coverup” involving the student.

As part of what Bill O’Reilly surely feels is his jihad to smear Muslims fight terrorism via semantics, he brought on his regular Thursday night psychologists to smear the Tsarnaevs, the parents of the Boston bombing suspects O’Reilly mocked at the opening of show last night, even further. But O’Reilly got an extra bang (pardon the expression) for his buck when Dr. Wendy Walsh fingered public schools as enabling the kind of upbringing Boston bomb suspects Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev theoretically received.
Read moreMegyn Kelly Attacks Planned Parenthood, Advances Lie That Pres. Obama Supports Infanticide
As the media mouthpiece for those who are waging a war on women, Fox News has consistently waged on war on Planned Parenthood which is seen, by the anti-choice movement, as an "abortion mill" which uses tax dollars to "kill babies" rather than a place where low income women can access a range of reproductive health care services. In his vilification of Planned Parenthood, Bill O'Reilly has used the lies and propaganda of the anti-abortion movement. He supported the GOP effort to defund it. The Anti-Planned Parenthood sting videographer Lila Rose was warmly welcomed by Mike Huckabee. But these examples of anti-choice bias are from Fox "opinion" shows as opposed to official Fox news which is always "fair & balanced." (!?) Yet, Megyn Kelly used her "news" show to advance the newest anti-choice meme that Pres. Obama shouldn't be speaking before Planned Parenthood because they're just as bad as Gosnell. And, as we've seen on Fox opinion, any Gosnell discussion leads to the old Obama supports infanticide lie - a lie being peddled on a Kelly's fair & balanced "news" show!
