Monica Crowley Witnesses For Jesus & Tim Tebow On Fox Business

Posted by Priscilla 0pc on January 16, 2012 · Flag

When you think of Fox News' Monica Crowley, the word piety doesn't immediately come to mind. One wouldn't think that the ever snarling Crowley, who compared Hillary Clinton to Glen Close in "Fatal Attraction" and Barack Obama to former dictator Hosni Mubarak (for deciding not to defend the "Defense of Marriage" Act), was a bride of Christ?  But despite her willingness to engage in some rather non-Christian character attacks, she is, as one of Ailes' stable of right wing Christians and Catholics, part of the Fox News Tim Tebow cult that focuses on Tebow's devout Christianity. That's not newsworthy. But who knew that  Crowley, who specializes in defamatory comments towards lots of folks she deems anathama (especially Barack Obama), would be quoting scripture and testifying for Jesus and, of course, Tim Tebow who, on Fox, is a god. Can somebody give me an amen!

As you know, Tim Tebow has become one of the major topics on Fox News. Obviously Fox's meme of Christian victimhood is also part of Fox Business where Tebow is also a topic for discussion that is centered, as it is on Fox "News," on how he's hated and mocked by evil libruls. On Friday, during the Stuart Varney show, resident and only official Fox clergyman Father Jonathan Morris talked about Tebow's awesomeness and how unfair it is that he's criticized for thanking God. As Morris spoke, a true testament to American stupidity appeared as a Fox statistic which noted that 43% of people believe that God helps Tebow win. Good lord - I mean good Tim Tebow!

Fellow Catholic Monica Crowley, taking a page out of her old catechism, responded that Tebow is thanking God "for the blessings of the talents that God has given him that he can then put to good use" (just like Monica does on Fox?)." She said that she is "taken with this story" about how, for years, he applied face paint with John 3:16, the meaning of which she then summarized. (Wonder if she can explain those other quotes about helping thy neighbor and not casting stones...???)  Her trademark sneer noticeably absent, she positively glowed as she talked about how Tebow wore the quote for years and now, mirabile dictu, his stats against the Steelers and the television rating for the game related to 316. She chuckeled as she shouted, "Now Father, come on." To his credit, Fox's favorite (and only) "frock" wearer responded "coincidence."

What more can I say other than go in peace, thanks be to Tim Tebow.

And BTW, does God love Tom Brady more than Tim Tebow? Go Pats!

Sybil, Timmy isn’t spreading the gospel. The right-wing, born-again interpretation of “gospel” is a fiction. Insults Jesus. You don’t see Thomas Jefferson Tebowing, do you (figure out what that means once you discover critical thinking). Tim’s errant “Christianity” is anti-Semitic, and and pretty much says a lot of people are going to Hell. That’s what he’s spreading.

Sybil Vaughn – *Well actually if you would read about his life and what he does with his time and money, you would see a LOT of substance. *

What part of ’it’s not about Tebow’ don’t you understand? The kid’s,I feel, honest religious beliefs being hijacked by fundamentalist nutjobs? He’s out there to play football, and I bet good money he never thought he’d be the poster boy for the white hood set.

People are so defensive over this kid.

Sybil, Teabow isn’t the only professional athlete who donates his time and money to worthy causes. Hundreds of athletes do. There’s nothing extra special about what Teabow does. I do admire what he and other athletes do.

Remember just a couple of weeks ago when Teabow fans replaced his name on jerseys with the name Jesus? I find that disgusting. But none of the self-proclaimed christians on FokkksGOPTV said anything about that. They’re hypocrites. And that is what Priscilla is pointing out in this report.

I do’t think Tebow is a bad kid, myself. I don’t have any problem with him praying or anything honestly. I think it’s in poor taste, considering biblical teaching but then, who am I to judge?

However, people are making more of this than what’s there. Football teams used to pray before, and in half time of every game. Why didn’t they get the big Christian Taliban push?

It’s not about God,and it’s not about Tebow imo. It’s about in-your-face Chritianity, militant Christianity. All style and no substance.

Tim Tebow is not a god; using the Lord’s name in vain and using Tim’s name in place of God is sacrilegious. Tim is using the platform of football to spread the gospel and he isn’t anti-anthing except anti Satan and anti people going to hell. Read about his life and all the good he does with his money and time. Furthermore God doesn’t care who wins a football game; He cares who gives Him the glory and follows His commands which are basically God first, others second, and “me” last. That’s what Tim Tebow practices. He’s a wonderful example of what a Christian should be; he is not ashamed of His faith! I wish I were half the person he is!

A point to remember, the “Catholicism” over at Fox ranges from orthodox right-wing to the weird right-wing born-again stuff that Monica is gushing about. It is a far cry from the socially conscious center and “liberal” perspective of many Roman Catholics.

I have no gripe with Tebow…he asks God for strenght to play his best, not devine intervention. That’s an invention of the media. My gripe is with the Fox Meme that he’s another persecuted Christian. Tebow has never hinted that he takes heat for being open and affirming of his beliefs.

If Tim Tebow is the best weapon in God’s arsenal, then Satan has already won.

Friend of mine and I are trying to figure out why the putative QB who had fewer completions than the real QB had touchdown passes at the half break gets the attention? I’ll bet Monica can’t read defenses, go through her receiver progression, or throw the deep ball either. But she’s blond, semi-attractive and ignorant which makes her perfect for Fux noise especially the “business” side.

don’tcha think God would have sat Tim down and told him that option QB’s don’t cut it in the NFL. Defenses are too fast and can contain him with a linebacker or a safety. Stay in the pocket, use the option as a trick play.

If litle Timmy learns that Monica is lusting after him, he will stay celibate.

Well, apparently Timmy Teabow didn’t thank God enough.

monica cowley is an idiot. She’s one of those “christians” that all other true Christians want to see thrown in with the lions.

Then we’d have to explain to the Orthodox and fundamentalist side of Christianity that “666” was a reference to Nero, not a supernatural spirit/Satan. There are more than one religion, not just denomination, that goes under the name “Christianity”.

The whole world should get a “Tebow 666” t-shirt for next year. Mine worked 5 out of 6 times.

Betcha won’t hear the Tebowites using John 1:36 – When he saw Jesus passing, he said, “Look, the lamb of God.”

Tim’s religion is ant-Semitic and anti-my religion. He says I’m going to Hell. And I say wrong, I am not condemned to watch Fox “News” for the rest of eternity.
Keep your religious arrogance to yourself, Timmy. Didn’t you learn your lesson the other day.? Was God punishing you for not paying attention to his instructions about praying in public?
