wow. reposted old post and lost rewrite. hmmm… am also journalist studied under Joyce Campbell (PBS-Chicano Ex. Prod.), Arthur Hook, and followed Mike Kirk’s legacy out of school. Really. So girls, listen up (Hi Ellen), ready as needed but endless posts as to religion academically have been ignored because of one thing we share with Fox – egotism. Take it from a pro. Ross.
Tired (well not really tired, of beating around the bush. I have an academic and religious background and if persons need to refute the right wing of the Catholic Church, and the orthodox/papal side of stuff, I am a very educated Heretic, and Episcopalian. Ditto for Fox News, etc. and ESPECIALLY the very errants “Inerrants” blind leading the blind butchering of the Bible and the New Testemant. Fox and Bill O’Hypocrite (conveniently) forget that not only does the Old Testemant order to not “bear false witness”, Jesus commanded it too. Funny/sad thing, is that I bet more than half of the Fox false bearers don’t even know where in Matthew to find it. Back soon. You know where to find me. p.s. Where is Claudo?, and edfromned needs our thoughts and prayers, but is doing alright. He is a close friend of mine. Peace out. Ross
Another Bill O’Fallacy – the implication that if Fox doesn’t help Santorum, the implication that Fox is therefore not a right wing station is a false conclusion. Fox IS a right wing cable that didn’t help Rick Santorum. See Bill twist words?
I would like to invite any News Hounds fellow commentors to review this sight on logic: http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/
The ridiculous emphasis on the idol-worship of a flag, not only shows how misplaced Fox is in the overall scheme of things. False patriotism, deflection, authoritarian, un-American, and so damn blatant that only their stupid audience falls for it. So since the similar rationale also happens to be applied in North Korea…
Some people swear to a piece of cloth, some people swear to true ideals. Symbol worship. And so on. However, since this is also a valid argument that is ongoing, I would encourage News Hounds followers to stay on this way-more-sinister-than-seems mentality, that actually reflects a bigger and more serious problem represented by this issue as raised by them.
At it’s simplest, Rick is recognizing a known fact. Fox isn’t fair and balanced. Also, the Republican and Republiklan candidates for the nom are such a fricking parody of what it’s supposed to be. Who needs Saturday Night Live when Mitt Romney shows up to hang out with y’all. Cheesy grits is a joke in itself. That’s what I’m going to call Mitt for now on. That’s settled. Looking forward to the next debate so we can get down to the Rick Santorum vs, Cheesy Grits stage. It’s tough though. These guys are both pretty Cheesy.
Eric Bolling’s gimmick really IS stupid. It just is. Broadcasters, print, already recognize this rather (recognized) stunt, but simply as a matter of normal TV new and opinion delivery regardless of any bias, or not, is simply already known to be sub-broadcast news at the national level down to the local level. I’m not addressing this as a Fox issue, although it also is. The other topic is just the blatant lameness of not knowing it just isn’t Kosher, nor how blatant the fallacy is.
It’s my degree, but I never did nor would go the commercial local or national TV for-profit news in any capacity (it’s a world unto itself, and I am something else. Why did I tout the ‘Fallacy’ screen name and constantly whining about critical thinking at my favorite media analysis site? I hope someday just to be able to start feeding ideas on stuff that I see when I get back to watching Fox (There are great guest blogs here, but I’m working on a different project, but want to chip in somehow.
NewsHounds IS part of the valid realm of news (media but news here ) analysis. Fox Nation, by the way, is not it’s counterpart over there where the orcs hang out.
By accepted description and whatever, critical thinking here is applied to seek the truth, and there are both rational secular, rational spiritual/philosophical, and religious (the good part RATIONALES (how do I underline here instead of cap?) for goodness, period. Honest media analysis for good, and specifically WHAT News Hounds addresses, is vital. You have Media Matters and New Hounds. Others, Huff, Daily/Colbert, etc., but this is an important (an absolute here) part of an important picture. In a not-snotty, but valid way, I think what I say is true. KEEP up the good work and everyone stay here and fight the fight. Fkn’a. I spend every day doing it “down the street”.
(underline implied ha ha : ) )
Nizkor supposed to be the next paragraph as a statement, not part of the description of Bill O'Anti-Christ. Delete and repost not being doable here doesn't matter. I don't care how functional or not News Hounds is. It all matters, and if it were on a teletype, I would participate and support.
Check out Nizkor.org. It is also the home of the fallacy tutorial that became The Fallacy Tutorial for the Mac, and eventually for all of us.
Delusional. Grandiose. Sold out. Anti-reason. “Wolf in sheep’s clothing”. Factually incorrect on the history of Christianity and Roman Catholicism, and the original Jesus/Kingdom of God (not “Heaven” by virtue of scholarly translation and study). Liar. For a buck. For being mentally ill in an evil manifestation of such (secular).
Bill O’Reilly. Nizkor.
Anne, you are absolutely right. Although I don’t believe in a personified Devil, there is a very logical case that Michelle is doing evil, whether in a secular, spiritual, philosophical, or religious sense (by Christian standards, for example). It also reflects a mental state or condition, but regardless, when it manifests itself in evil-doing, it is still not Good.
There are two camps at Fox. There’s one that knows they are spewing the Fox crap, and are laughing all the way to the bank. Then there are the MIchelle Malkins who (I maybe will take the time to briefly write the clinical definitions and descriptions), are truly delusional and related. And this is not an insult. I am a news person by education (with a bunch of psychology credits) and practice when I have freelanced over the years (all newspaper).
Back to the short version before I diagnose her – Michelle Malkin is fucked up in the head, and is incapable of critical thinking, and therefore ethics are shit, too. She’s not just sold out, she’s nuts, and she’s evil (secular use).
Why does this surprise anybody? Some of the Fox staff fits the same bill. They already have adopted the Hooker Look (and the Palin Hooker Look – a different style of plastering on the makeup, but not the Fox Blonde Clone style) as the general on-air style for the female broadcasters. And given their Fosterite religion(s), it all makes sense.
Monica’s language, to a profiler, pretty much says she thinks Breitbart is her cockstar. But then Fox hires ’em because they are playing the slut-look part, so why not just hire one? How nauseating. Turned on by Andrew Breitbart. He was a dildo, Monica probably has an Andrew dildo.
Fact. If you really break down the sum total of Breitbart, he was a scared pussy. Lying fucking coward. Cheap shot asshole. Chickenshit hypocrite. Un-American pseudonazi. And how often do you hear me calling someone names here at N.H.? In this case, it’s true. Subjective word insults are valid.
