Why Isn't Fox Making A Big Deal Out Of James O'Keefe's Voter Fraud?

Posted by Aria Prescott 9pc on January 15, 2012 · Flag

The same folks who mostly turned a blind eye to the two investigations into Ann Coulter’s alleged voter fraud seem to be doing the same thing with ACORN videographer (and criminal) James O’Keefe. You may recall how much Fox News loved O’Keefe when he released his sting videos against ACORN – and pretty much ignored discrediting information. There was some discussion when O’Keefe was arrested for trying to tamper with U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu’s telephones. But we must have blinked and missed Fox News’ coverage when he was accused of trying to seduce and humiliate CNN’s Abbie Boudreau. Now, O’Keefe has gone undercover again, this time to vote as a dead person in an effort to prove that our voting system is vulnerable to fraud – a favorite Republican and Fox News meme. The only problem? The only voter fraud O’Keefe seems to have actually uncovered is his own!

Since O’Keefe’s latest video has been released, the City Clerk of Manchester, NH said, "People who pull stunts like this should be prosecuted.” Nashua City Clerk Paul Bergeron told ThinkProgress he hopes the case gets prosecuted because it “appears to be a violation of the state’s wiretapping code for one thing, which is a Class B felony in New Hampshire, in addition to a possible violation election fraud.”

As far as we know, O’Keefe has not been arrested. Meanwhile, two high-ranking New Hampshire Republicans, DJ Bettencourt (Majority Leader) and William O’Brien (House Speaker) are actually endorsing O’Keefe’s actions. Bettencourt went further and used them as a platform to attack state Democrats with statements such as this:

"Instead of acknowledging the prospect of illegal voting that their positions have given the state, Democrats like Attorney General Mike Delaney have hid behind the reality that the people who commit voter fraud don’t come out and tell us, and that we don’t have the resources to look for fraud, so they suggest that it doesn’t happen. Well, it’s clear today that the emperor has no clothes and that it’s time to undo the damage of the Democrat rule and put some real teeth into the integrity of our elections by passing photo ID and residency laws to ensure that this doesn’t happen again."

So we have a legitimate case of voter fraud in which the perpetrator is still on probation for the stunt at Senator Landrieu’s office. Some voting officials want him arrested while some high-ranking elected officials praise his actions and have used them to push a voter ID bill. Where’s Fox News in all this?

That’s a good question. When I typed in O’Keefe’s name, the most recent mention I found was a shout-out to him in this video from last November. Otherwise, nothing.

What’s the deal?!

Last update before I regulate them to Facebook, I swear!

Person #14 who said they want to press charges is Rachel Groux, who’s deceased husband is not only a Navy Veteran, but had been dead less than 10 days When O’Keefe impersonated him.

Ellen, I gotta tell ya… few stories explode like this one is doing now. Fox News will have no choice but to give this coverage in a few more days. it will be far too big a story for anyone to ignore by Wednesday at this rate.

Who wants to bet on the type of spin?!

Here’s one I knew about, but couldn’t include in the article because it didn’t turn up on a search until this morning:

http://dailycaller.com/2012/01/11/newt-nh-election-fraud-video-proves-an-impostor-can-vote-for-you/

Newt Gingrich endorses the video. Seriously- a 2012 presidential candidate endorses voter fraud from the right, while talking out the other side of his mouth about Voter ID laws to “stop the left.”

Putting aside what that didn’t show up on an in-site search of Daily Caller until this morning and my newsfeed alerts didn’t tell me until an hour ago (what’s up with that?)… Fox News needs to put these people on the spot about their double standard. Or do they share it?

Meet Madeline Larose, the 13th person to outright call for O’Keefe to be arrested and given the maximum sentence.

http://www.nashuatelegraph.com/news/946244-196/nashua-woman-angry-that-project-veritas-posed.html

That’s 13 people who have called for his arrest; many of them are on record as saying they want to press charges for their individual case.

And you know it isn’t gonna be much longer before O’Keefe is being told to give up the name of his donor in court. I’m on pins and needles for that part…

What a shocker!!! Fox fails to classify as news anything that may show them to be the fucks that they are.
But enough of that!
On a much more important note….was I the only one who saw a cloud over New England’s Gillette Stadium yesterday that looked just like Barack Obama??

“Now, O’Keefe has gone undercover again, this time to vote as a dead person in an effort to prove that our voting system is vulnerable to fraud . . . "

Whenever police, federal or intelligence agents go undercover, the rule of thumb is for them to create a background/identity that’s as close to their own as possible.

By that logic, it seems the only way O’Keefe would be convincing as a dead person . . .

The New Hampshire State Prison for Men should find a suitable cellmate for sweet Jimmy.

Domenica posted a new development over at Facebook.
http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/01/okeefe_voter_fraud_stunt_confused_23-year-old_for_dead_84-year-old.php

Nothing solid on where this is going yet, but the article seems to imply that Bealieu is pretty fed up with how he’s being treated in the matter. I have put out requests for updates on this development, as well as when (if) any action is taken against O’Keefe.

That request is extended to comments on here- if anyone finds anything new, don’t be shy…
