"It's not that big of a surprise," Colbert said about O'Reilly's departure. "We all saw this coming at us, like an old man cornering an intern in the break room."

Watch the rest of Colbert's farewell "tribute" below.

I was hoping for Jon Stewart, too. But he was somewhat friendly with O’Reilly so maybe he didn’t want to be seen as “dancing on his grave.”

I saw this last night. I must confess I was hoping that Jon Stewart would of popped out of the cabin door, joining Colbert with them both gifting us with some kind of deliriously happy, hallelujah singing, happy feet dancing, arms a flapping routine.
I know that Stewart had wanted to retire because of family and, he said, he just couldn’t endure one more presidential campaign.
But after watching his few appearances on The Late Show since Colbert took over, I get the feeling he would of loved to have stayed on at the Daily Show another year if only anyone could of foreseen Diddle Diddle Dumpling in the White House.

You’ve just got to love the 1/2 truth tellers on Fox News.

To their credit [I suppose], I witnessed “Special Report” and “Fox & Friends” report on Bill’s dismissal and the line up changes. Howie Kurtz even went into some detail on “Special Report” regarding Bill’s troubles, some of it unflattering to Fox although plenty of whitewash was applied.

However, Baier and “F&F” are quick to emphasize O’Reilly’s denials with the substance of the allegations ignored altogether.
