On the CNN special, "Remembering Reagan," on June 10 at 4:32 pm ET, Judy Woodruff asked Tucker Carlson and Paul Bagala about how to best honor Reagan, suggesting Reagan's picture on various coins, or re-naming the Pentagon after Reagan. Tucker replied, seriously, that the best way to honor Reagan is to get rid of certain government departments like the department of education, or department of labor, or getting rid of seat belt laws. He emphasized the need for the demise of the department of labor in particular - twice.
Comment: Tucker WAS serious. This represents classic republican thinking. He wouldn't even consider suggesting that we get rid of the department of commerce. After all, how can we do without commerce? But a department of labor is expendable. I have noticed that labor is also missing from global "free" trade agreements. The only good labor is cheap labor. If you have ever wondered about the core beliefs of true blue republicans, this is one of its primary goals. The more we do for commerce, the better. The less we do for labor, the better. Tucker should watch his tongue. He might cause some braindead people to start thinking, and thinking will always endanger the re-election of republicans.
