Megyn Kelly let Fox viewers know she wasn’t buying Trump’s latest flip-flop of a defense for campaign manager Corey Lewandowski's alleged battery of reporter Michelle Fields. Kelly backed it up by systematically going through the very damning evidence behind the criminal charges.
Apparently, Fields had planned to go on the show but changed her mind. Acting as surrogate was her former Breitbart colleague Ben Shapiro. He resigned along with her after Breitbart refused to support her allegations.
SHAPIRO: Lying liars lie… Their story has evolved from “Corey Lewandowski never touched Michelle Fields” to “Well, she sort of had it coming… because she clearly was in a position to hurt Donald Trump so Corey Lewandowski ought to have a Medal of Honor for jumping in and defending his boss." By the way, who was surrounded there by Secret Service who do nothing because Michelle Fields is obviously no threat to Donald Trump.
Shapiro went on to say, “Donald Trump is a smoking garbage heap of human debris and so is Corey Lewandowski, in my opinion.”
Now, that’s not the kind of language I would endorse but it’s refreshing to see something like that said about a Republican on Fox rather than a Democrat.
The other guest was Trump supporter David Wohl. You may recall that last week Wohl called Trump’s smear of Heidi Cruz “satire” that we should all have a sense of humor about. Wohl now told Kelly, “It didn’t happen."
WOHL: What happened was, she [Fields] snuck past Secret Service …she then grabbed Mr. Trump on the arm, and asked him a question, Corey saw that and coming to the defense of his boss, went up to her, grabbed her arm, moved her aside so they could exit the venue. That’s all that happened.
You have to hear how Kelly demolished that.
As far as I know, The Kelly File is the only prime time Fox News program, quite possibly the only show on the network, to acknowledge Fields’ very strong case against Lewandowski. But I have to admit that as much as I was cheering on Kelly and Shapiro, Kelly let her anti-Trump bias show with favoritism toward Shapiro and argumentativeness with Wohl. The fact that she hosted two flame throwers instead of, say, an objective attorney to discuss the matter is one of the many ways that Fox corrupts the news into a he said/she said.
But none of that is any reason for us not to enjoy the takedown below, from the March 29 The Kelly File.
EZ, you’re absolutely correct. It’s never Trump’s or his nasty staff’s behavior that’s the problem. It’s that damn liberal media.
Now we have Trump spewing [then reversing when his craziness offends] we need to “punish” women who have abortions. Since the right-wingers whose rage he’s exploiting think it’s murder it must be the death penalty. Right, Der Furor? Up the chimney with you! [That last bit is snark, too.] ;^)
I thought from the beginning if Trump’s thug had simply apologized and said he mistook her for a threat this is a nothing burger. However, Der Furor has turned this into another sad example of him being a hopeless and nasty bully surrounded by nasty staff of a—holes.
More interesting to me than Trump being Trump again is his fanboy lawyer going to ridiculous lengths to whitewash Der Furor. Seig heil!
NewsHounds has posted enough evidence to prove there’s little Der Furor can do the fair and balanced Foxies won’t apologize for.
