Stephen Colbert Mocks Fox News' Democratic Convention Coverage

Posted by Ellen -7859.80pc on September 07, 2012 · Flag

There was so much noise and enthusiasm, "The Fox News people could barely hear themselves saying it sucked!"

In the first video below, Colbert skewers Brit Hume on Day One of the coverage.

In the second video, Colbert nails Charles Krauthammer's claims not to believe "a line" of Michelle Obama's speech.

Perfect for a late summer weekend night! Enjoy!

I could only get the first video to play (not you- me, videos are still touchy after fixing all that), but I can’t wait to see the other two. This is brilliant.

Went back a second time. In the first video, Colbert says “Thanks Gentlemen” several times: I read that as a subtle stab at the strong male-centered gender bias on Fox.

Wonderful!

I’m a-gonna remember that four years ago is September 2008, when Bush had been President for just under eight years.

At that time, specialist media (notably, that notoriously communist weekly called “The Economist” (snark intended)) had been publishing warnings about the housing bubble for a few years already and people were sensing that something was not quite right.
That’s when I first heard my brother say that surging education costs were slamming the door of opportunity in the face of the young people of America and that that would be the first generation NOT to do better than their parents.

Brilliant as usual by Colbert. The sad thing is, the denizens of FoKKKsNation won’t understand that it was satire . . .
