Last week, outrageousness continued over Donald Trump's smears of the Gold Star Khan family. Also, Fox News was there to help spin Trump's sinking poll numbers and questions about his wife's immigration. There's more outrageousness a click away after the jump. And then we look to our readers to determine which was the most outrageous of them all.
This week's nominees are:
Donald Trump, baselessly suggesting the November election is rigged:
“And—and I’m telling you, November 8th, we’d better be careful, because that election is going to be rigged. And I hope the Republicans are watching closely, or it’s going to be taken away from us.”
Bill O’Reilly, commenting on Donald Trump’s bigoted attack on Gold Star mother Ghazala Khan:
“I don’t think Trump meant any malice by it but if you do identity politics by saying the Muslim woman might not have been able to talk, then you ride over into the area where you’re gonna get hammered.”
Bill O’Reilly, sympathizing with Donald Trump over the Khan backlash because he’s a media victim, too, “merely” for saying that the slaves who built the White House were “well-fed and had decent lodgings.”
“I can identify. They did the same thing to me last week because I gave historical facts about how the White House—“
Sean Hannity, completely distorting why people were offended at Donald Trump’s attack on the Gold Star Khan family:
“The big issue with the media is that Donald Trump said that Mr. Khan’s son is a hero and his refugee program would never have impacted this family.”
Greta Van Susteren, discounting Donald Trump’s slump in a slew of polls.
“I’m not so sure how accurate these polls are.”
Mike Huckabee, responding to questions about the legality of Melania Trump’s immigration process by going birther:
“Well, one of the dumbest things about this is that they’re talking about something that happened over 20 years ago, and she was in her 20’s. She’s, as I say, she’s not the candidate. Why don’t we talk about Obama’s college transcripts?”
Eric Bolling, attacking a Republican congressman who refused to vote for Donald Trump but will concentrate on House and Senate races.
“So saying you’re going to sit this election out is a way that you’ll maintain the Senate or the House? Congressman, it’s backward logic. It’s the reason the American public is so tired of business as usual in D.C.”

Quite apart from her hubby having based his hateful campaign on Illegal Immigrant Bashing, the idea that delving 20 years into the past is beyond the pale is hilarious considering the Repuglicans’ favourite sport is knocking Democrats as far back as Woodrow Wilson – not to mention the whole ‘Party of Lincoln’ thing.
From Snopes:
“It would be illegal under federal law (the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974) for Occidental, Columbia or Harvard Law School to give any former student’s records to reporters or members of the public without that person’s specific, written permission.”
C’mon, Huck….show us yours.
