Megyn Kelly announced on her show Wednesday night that she met with Donald Trump and hopes to have an interview with him soon.
Kelly said on The Kelly File that the meeting was at her request "and Mr. Trump was gracious enough to agree to it."
"We met for about an hour, just the two of us, and had a chance to clear the air," she said. "Mr. Trump and I discussed the possibility of an interview and I hope we will have news to announce on that soon."
She said the doormen “appeared a bit stunned” when she arrived but “they too were incredibly gracious.”
Brian Stelter, at CNN, has a few more details:
Later in the evening, speaking with Fox's Sean Hannity, Trump said Kelly was "very, very nice."
"Maybe it was time... By the way, in all fairness, I give her a lot of credit" for requesting the meeting, he said.
And he alluded to a future TV taping, saying, "Let's see what happens."
But Hannity's pro-Trump studio audience booed when Kelly's name came up.
Stelter also noted that right after the meeting, Roger Ailes and Trump met for lunch, for a meeting that was supposedly scheduled separately.
