Megyn Kelly Baselessly Speculates Lafayette Shooting Was An ISIS Attack

Last night, shortly after the mass shooting in a Lafayette, Louisiana movie theater, Megyn Kelly talked to a Lafayette police spokesman who made it clear that almost nothing could be confirmed about the incident yet. But instead of trying to confirm, as earlier reports had indicated, whether the shooter was white, Kelly "asked” if the incident might have been an ISIS attack.

As Media Matters noted, Kelly had previously noted a similarity between this incident and the shooting in a Colorado movie theater in 2012 (which had nothing to do with ISIS). Also, authorities had already described the shooter as a white man - as the KTLA news report, below, time stamped at 6:44 PM PT (9:44 PM ET) shows.

Kelly talked to Lafayette police officer Kyle Suarez at about 9:54 PM ET, as the top video shows. The officer was unable to confirm during the call whether the gunman entered the theater while the movie was in progress, what kind of weapon was used, whether the gunman had shot himself, the age range of the victims and whether any sort of threat had been called in.

Kelly might have asked if Suarez could confirm earlier reports that the gunman was white, which had also been previously reported on her show. Instead, she asked about ISIS.

KELLY: Any reason to believe there might be a connection to ISIS or radical Islam or terror, as we understand it in this country?

Of course, Suarez said it was “too early to draw any type of conclusion.”

Kelly ended the interview after that.

I’m surprised she didn’t ask if the shooter was an immigrant.

Watch it below, from the July 23 The Kelly File, via Media Matters.

No Megyn, just another white conservative gun fondler from the south losing his mind and killing some folks.

When the white racist, Roof, killed the nine church members, she vowed that she will never show a killer’s photo on her show. Then the Hannity show following right after did have Roof’s picture, along with Hannity saying the ‘kid’ was probably mentally ill. Then when Ms. Steinle and the five military men were killed, she blasted those killers’ pictures. She might show this guy’s photo, though, as he probably really is mentally ill.

What we know about the shooter: He was white, in his late 50s, a Tea Partier, a birther, a Fox defender. He also loved Hitler, thought women should only leave the kitchen for church, and while I’m getting conflicting reports of whether or not he still had a home, pics of the house he lived in when he did rest his laurels showed it decked in confederate flags.

Naturally, Kelly will be desperate to spin all that away, after she tried this.

Yes Meg, the gunman was white. Rest assured though Meg, it was neither Jesus, nor Santa Claus.

Once Blackroots Barbie learned that the shooter was not a radical Mooslem or an illegal Mexican alien, she went back to her usual fare of Planned Parenthood selling baby parts, Benghazi, IRS and Obama appeasing Iran.

Some say that the crazed old white guy was another Birther Boy Trump supporter. He got lost driving to El Paso for Trump’s immigrant bashing tour.
