Posted by Ellen -7835.60pc on December 11, 2012 · Flag

Jon Stewart nailed Fox News hypocrisy again last night - this time over its phony outrage against Bob Costas' comments on gun control.

Enjoy!

Doors, Limbaugh is the ultimate circular argument. Every high horse he gets on, he’s a case for the opposite of what he’s saying- just by existing.

But Dittoheads will forgive him for anything.

Several of my Republican friends and family think Bob Costas should be fired for these comments. I ask them, you think he should be fired for using his first amendment right because he may not entirely agree with the second? He didn’t say he was against the second and made it clear that quoting Jason Whitlock from Fox Sports.com and agreed with Mr. Whitlock’s opinion.

When I tell them that they usually reply back he should only talk about football, which he was doing by having the courage to talk about this tragedy. I then remind them that Rush Limbaugh talks about football on his show, do they have problem with that? Of course this doesn’t bother them since he’s their beloved Rush, so we just go in circles.

Obviously Mr. Costas was given the okay by the suits at NBC before he made his comment, and I give Mr. Costas credit for not avoiding it. He knew what the reaction would be receiving from those who think the black helicopters will be arriving someday to take away their guns.

While I love both Stewart and Colbert, segments like this are why I prefer Stewart. While Colbert’s spot-on send ups of how they act are entertaining, his humour is harder to use in an argument against Fox News’ talking points- should you take that approach.

Stewart’s just more quotable- and more direct when it’s straight.
