Yeegads, someone at the Fox Nation likes to create big screaming headlines! Take this post, which is titled "Obama Slaughtered in Latest Gallup Poll." If you read the body of the text, gentle reader, you'll find the poll doesn't give Obama brilliant ratings (especially not with respect to the economy). If you link to Gallup's own story (Fox Nation generously provides the link) you will find that Obama's overall job rating is 45%. Bill Clinton, the past president with the highest rating, came in at only 53%. Would you call that a "slaughter"?
But the headline writers at Fox Nation are crazy about hyperbole. They're always thwacking us with words like "demolish" (generally used when a right-wing media person argues with a left-wing one), or "scorching" (generally used to describe the latest attack ad from the Republican campaign). I may do a more formal analysis for my next scientific study. It'll be a searing, scorching, blistering, devastating, annihilating piece of research!!!!!!
Nah — but THIS one sure as hell is:
