As Fox News' "1/2 Hour News Hour" putts along to its final episode, which will air next Sunday, the lack of humor and crass attempts at bashing continue. Tonight's show opened with its usual disclaimer indicating that some of the stories may not be factually accurate, something the other supposedly serious programs on the network might want to consider.

FOX's 1/2 Hour News Hour Canceled

FNC announced this afternoon that 1/2 Hour News Hour has been canceled. The news should come as no surprise to anyone who watched the show. The last episode will air 9/16/07.

Like the painful days of Saturday Night Live writers' block that comes and goes about every 3-5 years, like the obnoxious, amateur writing style of Mad TV, Fox News' "The Half Hour News Hour" usually makes one decent joke a night, followed by a bunch of empty filler and jokes that bomb. Last night's show (7/22/07) was no exception.

Mean Considered Funny On FOX News

Michelle Malkin was all smiles during the last five minutes of The Factor, 7/6, when the fake news anchors from FNC's comedy show, Half Hour News Hour, appeared for a little fun. Malkin had just interviewed Chad Lowe in the previous segment about Live Earth so she asked the comic minds for their take on the concert and of course, John Edwards' haircut.

1/2 Hour News Hour Takes Aim At Environmental Issues.

Anyone watching 1/2 Hour News Hour tonight would never guess that Rupert Murdoch pledged recently to fight climate change problems. Environmental concerns were considered a source of great hilarity tonight ending with Dennis Miller really crossing over the edgy line into the psycho realm. 6/17/07
