Fox Trots Out A Favorite Clinton Hater To Discuss Her Return To Public Life

Hillary Clinton returned to the spotlight this week with an interview with Christiane Amanpour. Naturally, Fox had to take shots.

Fox & Friends featured a debate between Tezlyn Figaro, identified as an “independent voter and former Sanders staffer,” and former Clinton staffer Adrienne Elrod. host Pete Hegseth put his thumb on the scale before either guest had a chance to open her mouth.

As he announced the name of Clinton’s new PAC, “Onward Together,” this was displayed on the screen:

“That may not be the official logo but we put it together as best we could,” Morris snarked.

Clinton’s PAC is designed to fund groups that oppose Donald Trump’s agenda. That’s probably what really worries Fox. So they trotted out Clinton-hater Figaro who has made such a career of attacking Clinton and Democrats, I have to wonder who funds her.

Now, I’ve got no problem with people who dislike Clinton. But going on Fox to smear her with inflammatory rhetoric? What kind of progressive goal does that accomplish?

Figaro delved into her role this morning with relish:

FIGARO: The only thing that Hillary Clinton is resisting is the ability to sit down, refusing to sit down. This is nothing but a money grab to continue to get donors to donate money to a PAC that’s ineffective.

At the end of the day, the voters have decided that they don’t want to move forward with Hillary Clinton, just as they did in 2008 and they’re continuing to push the same message on the same voters and they’re no longer listening.

… They have simply regifted an old gift that no one wanted at Christmas and decided to put a new bow on it and thinking that people would forget what’s actually in the package.

Figaro offered not a lick of evidence to show that Clinton is only interested in the money nor that nobody cares what she says or does. But, predictably, Hegseth didn’t challenge a word. Instead, he validated Figaro by saying, “It’s hard to argue with that.”

Oh, and Figaro is an armchair psychologist, too:

FIGARO: This is completely driven by ego [just moments after saying it was completely driven by money], refusing to admit that she’s lost.

Again, Hegseth didn’t challenge a word. But he did laugh derisively as Elrod said, “This is quintessential Hillary. She’s always thinking of other people before herself.”

That's Fox News "fair and balanced" for you.

For extra Fox points, Figaro called the party “The Democrat Party,” just like the Foxies like to do as a smear tactic.

I don’t know how much political clout Figaro has with progressives. But I can guarantee you she has ensured another invitation from Fox News.

Watch Fox’s favorite kind of “liberal” below, from the May 6, 2017 Fox & Friends.

Jane S, I wonder about that, too.

Has anybody ever asked Saint Bernard about this female, who claims to have had some weird position on his campaign that makes no sense?

I’m with Bemused. 25 years of relentless, groundless smearing of Hillary by all the bought-and-paid-for hacks of the right wing money monsters has given her this patina of ‘untrustworthiness’ even amongst the apolitical and many on the left.

I disagree with many of he positions and decisions myself – there have been way too many times when she appeared to be looking at the political effect of matters rather than the substance behind them. But I’ve seen nothing to suggest she does not have the best interests of women, minorities and the country at heart.

All of the Clinton hate is truly puzzling. Since the election of Emperor Orange/Mr. Orange/Donald of Orange, I have heard many say that while they despise or don’t like Trump, they really don’t trust Clinton or would have think the worst. In my judgement, her foreign policy is way too hawkish for me, but it still doesn’t compare with the people who are in this administration. She does have too many ties to Wall Street and she advocates too many policies that are similar to Bill’s like welfare reform and the crime bill, but the Donald is the still the dangerous human being that has revealed to the public. She has done some worthwhile things in her life, but she was a dreadful candidate and she shouldn’t return to public life, but she wants to advocate for certain progressive policies I am not going to object. Let’s hope that the Democrats abandon the mushy third way corporate friendly policies that have been embraced Tony Blair and others throughout the world.

You have to laugh at the desperation over at FAUX FAKE NEWS, they have to bring out the HOUSE NEGRO. 1). Mrs. Clinton won more than 3 million more vote than DON the CON. And she is so proud to get her 2 minutes on a show that always put African American women down but 2 pieces of fake silver bless her little heart.

Personally, I want my leaders to be smarter and more capable than I could ever be. I’m not particularly interested in their drinking habits, nor do I want them to be blustering, bloviating bullies.
Some would say that Hillary is untrustworthy but I’ve yet to find anybody able to provide hard evidence of that. The GOP smear campaign was relentless and – to my own mind – devoid of hard facts. Only suspicion and innuendo.
Rant off.

PS: Saw that interview with Amanpour and only wish that Hillary had been more like that during the campaign.
PPSS: She actually won the popular vote, didn’t she? Didn’t she? That must really go against the natural lie of the fur on the Donald. :-)))

Must admit to be totally bemused by this hatred for Hillary, a sentiment that flies in the face of her curriculum where children’s and women’s issues play such a huge part. OK, she’s not someone you’d like to have a beer with (too wonky, perhaps) but since when has popularity become a criterion for the selection of leaders?
Oh wait.
