Fox Spins Positive Jobs Report As A Plus For Romney

Posted by Ellen -7859.80pc on November 03, 2012 · Flag

Although Friday's jobs report was generally considered good news for President Obama, on Fox News, it was portrayed as good news for Mitt Romney,

As Think Progress noted:

As the numbers came out at 8:30 AM, Fox — along with several other news networks — ran a misleading chyron displaying the small increase in the unemployment rate, without mentioning the growth in raw jobs or explaining that the rate ticked up because October’s job gains pulled more than half a million people into the labor force. By 9:00 AM, anchor Stuart Varney analyzed the political impact of the report and predicted that Romney would benefit from the administration’s economic recovery...

Indeed, Fox’s analysis closely mirrored Romney’s, who claimed that “Today’s increase in the unemployment rate is a sad reminder that the economy is at a virtual standstill.” 5.4 million private sector jobs have been created under Obama’s presidency.

Me thinks reporters are telling them Obama will win the election, hence the desperation and ludicrousness. This will multiply by infinity after all votes are in.

Not only didn’t I die in my sleep last night, but I woke up to a “sunny” day—Thank you Gov. Rmoney.
I haven’t heard if Faux News had given him credit for that yet.

You hit that one right on the head! I would complete it with “… but blame others for anything bad that happens.”

From the same people who also told us that 4 dead Americans in Libya and Hurricane Sandy were also checks in the plus column for Willard. And also Willard’s European vacation (with a side-trip to Adelson/Bibi Land) was also a plus.

I don’t think they did well in math class.

Seems damn near ANYTHING is a plus for Romney these days:

- the ACA being upheld by the Supreme Court
- the response to Hurricane Sandy
- the jobs report

I guess as long you don’t give credit to the black guy with the funny name — ’specially this close to the election . . .

It’s taken our President four years to pull us out from the economic disaster of Dumbya. MagicUnderwear MItt has done nothing other than promise to take us right back to Dumbya’s failed policies. If a majority of voters agree with MItty, our nation is doomed.
