While Donald Trump’s campaign implodes, Fox News found a losing Senate candidate who flip-flopped on his flip-flop and now seems to be supporting Trump again. That candidate, Darryl Glenn, got a friendly platform to talk about why he reversed course on his recent unendorsement and now thinks Trump might be OK after all.
For some background on Glenn: FiveThirtyEight.com currently gives him a 4.5% chance of winning election to the U.S. Senate in its “Poll-plus forecast.” Glenn has also recently flip-flopped on having said children from rape are “a gift from God.” Furthermore, he gave highly questionable “explanations” for an assault his now-deceased father reported was made on him by his son.
But none of that was mentioned on Your World yesterday when Glenn decided he was no longer so sure “Trump should quit race,” as the lower-third banner read. That was after Glenn had first seemingly endorsed Trump.
Trump “did what he absolutely had to do,” Glenn said about Sunday night’s second presidential debate. “I think he reset this campaign. People were wanting him to come out and show contrition [for p***ygate], and he did that. He accepted responsibility.”
Glenn also praised Trump for having “prosecuted the case against Hillary Clinton.” The contrast with Clinton that Trump drew, Glenn claimed, is why he now wants to meet with Trump and “talk to him about some of the issues that I’ve been working with.” Glenn invited Trump to Colorado to “share his vision for economic prosperity.”
“It sounds like you’ve had a change of heart, right?” Host Neil Cavuto sounded skeptical. “What changed?” he later asked. “Yesterday at this time he was like chopped liver, so what happened?”
“He stepped up and took responsibility, and then he proceeded to prosecute the case,” Glenn replied.
