Fox host Trish Regan teamed up with Fox’s Mike Huckabee to echo Trump’s accusation that President Obama hates Trump and Republicans more than he hates ISIS.
Last week, Donald Trump exploited the Orlando shooting tragedy by blowing the “Obama’s a secret Muslim” dog whistle on Fox & Friends. At a rally the next day, Trump followed up by claiming Obama was “more angry at me than the shooter.” Trump also said, “The level of anger, that’s the kind of anger he should have for the shooter and these killers that shouldn’t be here.”
Like Megyn Kelly, host Trish Regan echoed and thus validated Trump's remarks. Even worse, she prodded Fox News contributor Huckabee, not identified as a Trump supporter, to do the same.
First, Regan blamed President Obama for ISIS, without noting the role George W. Bush played in its creation.
REGAN: Let’s face it. ISIS was created under this president, and you know, he’s going to have to bear the cross of that.
Then she moved in for specific dog whistle: “He seemed more angry, Governor, at Republicans than he did the terrorists, and that really shows you just exactly how politicized this environment has gotten.”
Funny, Regan “forgot” all about Trump’s vile politicization – which she was enthusiastically engaging in.
Then, for further hypocrisy, Regan cried, “I mean, really. If you’re gonna fight terror, do you or do you not need to take the politics out of it?” She forgot to add, "if you're a Democrat."
Huckabee piled on. “You do and you need to be angry at the right person at the right tie for the right cause. And this president, as you pointed out, was viscerally angry at Republicans and specifically Donald Trump. You could see the veins bulging on his neck, and he spoke with far more passion about ‘We’re going to get these Republicans,’ than he ever did when he goes to the podium and says ‘We’re going to go to war with ISIS, and we’re going to kill the last one of ‘em, and they’ll never be able to come out of their hidey holes ever again.’”
