Fox’s Peter Johnson, Jr. Calls WaPo Cartoon Of Cruz Daughters ‘Child Abuse’

The most hysterical response to a Washington Post cartoon depicting Senator Ted Cruz’ daughters as monkeys has got to belong to Peter Johnson, Jr. who insisted that the cartoon is a form of child abuse.

I thought Meghan McCain’s reaction to the cartoon, in which she suggested that the Cruz daughters would be scarred for life, was over-the-top. But Johnson, Roger Ailes' personal attorney and Fox News stand-in, took the derangement even further.

The “child abuse” meme began with host Clayton Morris “just asking” if the cartoon was “a form of child abuse.” FoxNews.com “just asks” the same question in its title for the video, below.

And – surprise! Johnson thought the cartoon child was abuse.

JOHNSON: I hate to be judgmental, especially in this Christmas season, but I really do think it’s a form of child abuse. And so don’t hide behind the First Amendment and say well, Senator Cruz you put your daughters in play and so The Washington Post can now call them little monkeys.

Actually, The Post never called the daughters “little monkeys.” The cartoon didn’t even really portray them as little monkeys. The cartoon depicted two monkeys on a leash that were references to Cruz’ daughters.

Of course, Morris did not correct the record.

“They shouldn’t have to go to school and explain to their friends that they’re not really little monkeys,” Johnson continued, with all the best conservative victimhood Fox has to offer

Apparently, Fox News viewers are not siding with Ailes, I mean Johnson on this one. Morris noted that the viewers are “kind of split” on the cartoon because Cruz put the girls in his campaign ads. Morris “forgot” to point out that Cruz circulated the cartoon in order to fundraise off it, thereby possibly ensuring that more people see it from him than from The Washington Post, which pulled it.

It wasn’t until more than two-thirds into the interview that Johnson finally acknowledged that there would not and should not be any legal repercussions from this “child abuse.” He said, “I think from a moral perspective it’s abuse. They’re not going to be put in jail.” This, despite the fact that Johnson was introduced as a Fox News legal analyst there “to weigh in on the legal side” of the child abuse question.

“No one is saying they should go to jail for it and there’s no physical harm but it’s emotional abuse,” Johnson now argued.

Morris said, “Right.”

However, Johnson all but suggested somebody should go to jail. “It’s psychological abuse,” he said. “How long will these little girls have to go on and answer for this, that somehow their father is some bizarre looking Santa with an organ grinder and that they’re little monkeys? What is their mother in that bizarre family portrait?”

Oh, come on!

Watch it below, from the December 23 Fox & Friends.

Stick to the New York Times and MSNBC and you won’t have to worry about it.

Of course I am being fair since nothing you said about Soviet propaganda has anything to do with unilateral surrender on the part of liberals extending to allowing threats to Chelsea’s life while ignoring the child pimps of the right?
Seriously, did your debate performance in High School match this idiotic non sequitur for inane and inapplicable unsubstantiated claims?
Give it up!

Are you being fair?
I ran tours to the Soviet Union in the 1960s.
I was involved in many Soviet media stories praising their leadership for not getting involved in the Vietnam war, their Police for not beating up a drunk passenger who assaulted Soviet Police, even their motor mechanics for fixing our vehicles.

Ron Paul, after decades of writing for the Council of Conservative Citizens Gay Hate site, denies everything, despite the fact that his ranting loathing of equal rights is available for viewing by all, so, no, he’s not Honest.

Do you have any honest politicians other than Ron Paul?
What about Bernie Sanders?
Problem is Australia always follows America regardless, and since Margaret Thatcher so has Britain.
The endless wars are also bankrupting these countries, Australia has the worlds highest debt per person overall. They can’t go on spending money they don’t have for ever.

Keith, how do you think America got in this predicament? Raygun violated U.S. Law to pursue a war he was forbidden by Congress to execute. That is a High Crime. He then perjured himself to cover up. That is a Misdemeanor.
The Unilateral disarmament by the left gave the right license to steal the 2000 election, start three wars, steal 3 trillion dollars including 2 billion in CASH scattered to various useful idiots in Iraq, murder 1 million plus innocent Iraqis and NOT ONE Republican faced prosecution.
When repigs put their kids on display in campaign ads and P.R., they are fair game.

No Keith, Clinton would not have had to resign, given that he had 71% approval DURING impeachment.
“People get frustrated” happened when Raygun offshored 1/8 of the manufacturing capacity of the nation, giving tax dollars to help industry ‘relocate’

The problem with American politics is no one seems to ever get fired. If Clinton had been the Prime Minister of England or Australia he would have had to resign, Obama would have been booted in his first term. People get frustrated and go over board, how Hilary has the nerve to run twice is beyond me.

@keith: I agree but beg humbly to remind you that nobody, but nobody, here, has ever but ever said that tit for tat was OK where kids are concerned. In that respect we are totally different from the GOP/FNC.

In fact, it’s the blatant, unabashed hypocrisy of the situation that gets our goat. The slurs cast by the Cruz daughters in that video came from the pen of very nasty adults and their father endorsed that video. The whole matter reminds us of how Chelsea was repeatedly and directly attacked when she was in her early teens. That hatred is still being expressed by the same nasty adults who put that sort ot text in the mouths of the Cruz girls.

So if the republicans abuse children it is ok for democrats to abuse children? All children are entitled to respect. Politicians in civilized countries don’t go around attacking each other’s children.

Keith, when Republicans put Derbyshire on trial for child abuse, having demanded the death of Chelsea (then 13), THEN talk to about ‘should not be attacked’.
SCREW unilateral disarmament! Put the kids on show, they are fair game!
Keith Martin commented 2015-12-28 00:57:39 -0500 · Flag
The children should not be attacked in any way until they are adults and then only if they are involved in actual campaigning. Saddam Hussein’s kids that were not involved in politics were not pursued only his thug sons. They are children, it is abuse….child abuse.

How about every rightwinger be required to call for the arrest of John Derbyshire for demanding the MURDER of Chelsea? Not one Faux ‘news’ commenter said word one about that?

Peter Johnson, Jr. is abusing my intelligence so much my head hurts. Anyone know a good lawyer so I can sue the jerk? 😉

Child abuse? Psychological abuse? If Penis3 wants to go there, how about having the guts to call out Cruz for inserting his young daughters into a highly political ad in which he has the oldest daughter mocking Hillary as the Grinch in such a ridiculous, snarky manner? His daughter most likely doesn’t even understand what is really going on with the email/server issue yet her Dad uses her as a tool for his political campaign to go after Hillary.

Yeah, I’m more of a “the kids are off limits” type of person. However, in this case, Cruz deliberately placed his children in a smarmy, bullish!t ad that not only attacked his political foes, but it also attacked those of us who don’t agree with his political views (in the guise of “classic Christmas books”) by saying that we probably hate Christmas and America too – and no one but this cartoonist seems to be publicly challenging him with regards to what he did.

Perhaps Cruz, his wife and his campaign should take a more critical look at their own ill-conceived choices instead of using the cartoon they supposedly despise as a fund raising tactic, hmm? What this really shows us is that Cruz is more interested in attacking his foes and raising $ than he is protecting and respecting his daughters.

Btw, if Penis3 is worried about the “monkey” label, where the hell has he been the last 7 years when Obama, Michelle and their daughters have been called monkeys, apes, gorillas and worse over at his network’s FOX “nation” website?

Only on Fux Noise. “Attorney at Law” Penis 3 opining on psychology. Next up, crackpot psychiatrist “Dr” Keith Allblow opining on the First Amendment.
