Fox's Neil Cavuto Slobbers Over Donald Trump’s ‘Lion King’ Moment

Donald Trump fawned over a baby and held it up for the crowd in what was clearly a pre-scripted moment. Fox News' Neil Cavuto compared it to The Lion King and suggested it could be an election-winning moment.

Kissing babies may be the oldest political cliché in the world. But as we waited for a Trump rally to begin, Fox’s Neil Cavuto acted as though he had never seen anything so wonderful.

CAVUTO: He’s gonna have to really do something out-of-the-park phenomenal to top what he did in Florida earlier today.

Take a look at this. We saw a cute little baby in the audience. … He loves babies. This baby was very happy with him. But I immediately thought, I immediately thought of this. Yeah, the Lion King. So you win over the Disney voter, you win over kids who remember that movie fondly and you think, Donald Trump just could be the Lion King or the crowd tamer. See where I’m going here? You can’t make this stuff up. Actually I just did.

Maybe Cavuto did just make that up. But it just so happens this is not the first time Trump pulled this ploy or was compared to the Lion King. In September, Trump held up another baby, this time during a campaign event in which he was trying to appeal to women promoting his plan for child care and maternity leave. MSNBC’s Morning Joe program found the gesture reminiscent of the Lion King, too, and even made a mashup video (below).

But Cavuto was not done gushing. With guest Jon Taffer, Cavuto began suggesting that that single gesture might have just won Trump the election. Or maybe should have.

CAVUTO: I always think, Jon … that this kind of stuff counts more than you know for making impressions. And it gets replayed and replayed and replayed. What do you think?

Taffer agreed that the image and the repetition were “powerful” but he said it could also remind someone of Michael Jackson (presumably when he dangled his baby out a window).

But Cavuto was not to be deterred.

CAVUTO: Does that turn around a guy who’s down in the polls?

Taffer, in case you don’t recognize the name, is a hospitality consultant and the host of TV's Bar Rescue, not a political expert. But he seemed happy to play one on TV.

TAFFER: There’s the substance-based issues. But then there are those moments of emotional connection, where humanity comes out, those moments of warmth. We all have to connect with him personally and emotionally, or Hillary, to be able to vote with them with some kind of confidence. You have to feel you know them. And talking about building a wall doesn’t necessarily do that. The moment he hugged the baby, “Awww, he’s …”

Unfortunately for Trump, the feed was lost just then.

But Cavuto got some more cheerleading in before moving on.

CAVUTO: That was something to see today. That was one of my favorite moments. And maybe there’ll be other babies in the crowd but I think this is for young Moms and Dads everywhere. Move up to the front of the line. This could be your moment. This could be your child becoming Simba, the lion king.

By the way, this was not the only time Cavuto trumpeted (pardon the pun) this Lion King moment today. But watch this one, from the November 5, 2016 Cavuto: Coast to Coast on the Fox Business Network. It's quite enough to get the point.

Headline: Wild Beast Fails to Rip Innocent Child Limb from Limb!

By the way, wasn’t that Brenda a pathetic example of this year’s crop of gormless trolls? I can confidently state that she’s too dumb to be a Russian.

doors, Brenda won’t be convinced of that victory, as she’s not here to praise Clinton but to try to bury her. It’s interesting that she is attempting to repeat every smear of Hillary Clinton she can within a single short paragraph. We could go through each of her smears and show how they’ve been thoroughly debunked already – or we could just ask Brenda to do a little studying and see if she learns anything.

There was a much nastier interview conducted by Cavuto on the same subject. When he had John Sununu on, he went through the same routine, and then asked Sununu about Chris Christie’s situation. Sununu feigned ignorance of anything about Christie and tried to throw as much mud at Clinton as he could. (Sununu’s been playing these games since 2012, when he slyly tried to portray President Obama as being “too lazy” to prepare for his first debate, etc…)

Brenda Roberts, Donald Trump is not going to win. At 11 pm eastern time the polls will close in California and with victories in Washington and Oregon announced at the same time as California for Hillary it will put her over the needed 270. My guess is 323-215 Clinton. What’s your guess?

But don’t be fooled. A Hillary Clinton presidency will be a ratings bonanza for Fox News and talk radio as a meeting place for group therapy for those who hate her and increase not only ratings but advertising dollars based on the ratings.

There will be no talk of uniting the country and coming together as Americans first, but keep us separated as we will remain divided.

Is this an inference, J Hall, that Hillary doesn’t lie? She lied about Benghazi; she lied about the Clinton Foundation money for the Haitians; she lied about sniper fire, and there’s more coming. She stole items from the White House and had to return them. She stole charitable contributions. How can anyone with a conscience vote for her? President Trump…it has a nice ring to it. “Drain the Swamp!” Oh, and btw, Christiansen, I am a Second Amendment person and proud of it! It is in the Constitution, you idiot!

Heaven forbid, the little guy might want to get a university education, and pursue some other career!

“I love the poorly educated!”

- Donald Trump

Trump believes you’re ridiculous, and you don’t deserve to be taken seriously. He wants your votes, of course, and he panders to you, and your whims, as necessary, to get them. But, he really thinks you are complete idiots. Just as Putin sees him as a “useful idiot,” so he sees you.

Of course, you don’t want to believe it. You certainly don’t want to believe me, some
lefty, liberal, Democrat, but it’s true. Remember, belief isn’t truth, no matter how so very much you wish it so. But, by the same token, truth is not always believed, even by those that see it right under their noses.

And, you might ask, how do I know this? Well, I listen to his words. And hear them.

In that speech, where he, not so subtly, called for you to assassinate Hillary; what did he call you?

He called you “those second amendment people.”

Think about it. You’re them. When he says something like “…get a load of those Bernie or Bust people,” is he being complimentary? Of course not, and you know it. He’s calling them a bunch of idiots. Useful idiots, as they pull votes from Clinton, but idiots all the same. Them.

Don’t worry, you aren’t alone. It isn’t just people who are passionate about their Second Amendment rights that he despises and disrespects. It’s all the voters that can be manipulated into voting for him. Even if they oppose everything you hold dear, he wants their votes, no matter what it takes. Trump couldn’t care less about constitutional amendments, or constitutional law, or laws in general. He cares about Trump. And Trump’s above the law. He can ask a foreign intelligence service to hack his opponent’s emails, or even ask his supporters to murder her, and he gets away with it. So, why should he care?

But remember, when he says that all he has to do is mention “the wall,” when you’re getting bored during a speech, or that he could murder someone and “not lose a single vote,” he’s talking about you, his “useful idiots.”

And, speaking of immigration and “the wall,” what did he say?

“I’ll build a great wall…” And make Mexico pay for it?

Do you believe him? Does he think you are an idiot? Of course he does. I, on the other hand, don’t believe all Trump supporters are stupid. Some are merely ignorant of the facts.

Ignorance and stupidity are dreadful maladies.

One is treatable, the other is terminal.

Now, even at this late juncture, I’d like to see those tax returns.

So Neil, this particular photo op is gonna appeal to millennials who have fond memories of Disney cartoons. Maybe so. Instead of addressing their issues of jobs, health care and affordable education.

“You can’t make this stuff up. Actually I just did.”

Keep em coming Neil.

There was a baby crying in the crowd at a tRump rally back in July and tRump said, “Okay, enough already. Get him out…”

Just saying’.

The Lion King moment in the actual movie was about a father understanding that his new son was the next to wear the crown.

trump has no such realization; he is a narcissist who thinks he is going to live forever and would never offer any spotlight away from himself.

Just ask him why he doesn’t parade his son Baron out for all the peons to worship.

Because it’s all about tRump — all the time.

Lifting a baby is not a Lion King moment. It’s just a loser trying to garner TV time…

The Lion King or Michael Jackson holding his baby over a balcony. Show the clip of Trump visiting the kindergarten class and the little girl saying, “I’m nervous! I’m nervous!”.
