Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace all but stood up and declared Dr. Ben Carson unfit for the job of president of the United States.
Of course, I agree that Carson is unfit. But I prefer my “objective” news anchors, especially when they’re supposed to be “fair and balanced,” not to interfere in the process.
The fact that Carson didn’t appear until the second half of the show was the first tip-off for Wallace’s and/or Fox’s low esteem.
You may recall that during a recent Fox News Sunday appearance, Carson pulled a Sarah Palin when Wallace went after him to name which ally he’d call first to put together an international coalition to go after ISIS. Wallace wasn’t any easier on Carson this time.
WALLACE: One month ago Dr. Ben Carson was riding high on the polls in a virtual tie with GOP frontrunner Donald Trump, but after terror attacks overseas and at home, Carson’s poll numbers have dropped amid growing doubts about his readiness to be commander and chief.
Wallace also highlighted Carson’s disastrous appearance before the Republican Jewish Coalition in which Carson read his remarks, didn’t take questions and seemed to mispronounce “Hamas” as “hummus.”
WALLACE: Afterwards Ari Fleischer, who’s a member of the RJC board and, of course, was former Bush press 43, press secretary, he tweeted this, “Someone should have told him how to pronounce Hamas. He sounds like he’s not familiar with the group.” Question, how do you respond? And you read it over the last couple of days, how do you respond to all the criticism of your speech, sir?
I don’t mind Wallace highlighting Carson’s weaknesses and asking tough questions. But I draw the line at “helpful hints” to a candidate:
WALLACE: I have always been told, and I say this - I’ve said on the air many times you and I are friends, and I have great respect for you, I’ve always been told that a good doctor is never threatened if you ask for a second opinion. He welcomes that, because he wants to do the best for the patient. Is it possible that with the change focus of this campaign, with the, you know, with the attacks in Paris and now in San Bernardino and the increased emphasis on foreign policy experience and being commander in chief, that maybe you’re not the right fit at this point?
Well, maybe Carson can go on The Kelly File for some rehab where she can tell everyone “I know you know” how to pronounce Hamas correctly.
By the way, this was the sixth Fox News Sunday in a row without any interviews of a Democratic guest.
Watch Carson below, on the December 6 Fox News Sunday. You very well may never see him there as a presidential candidate again.
Fox News hates him. ABC’s comments section deletes posts from his supporters who defend him against their hit pieces, and every media organization on the left and right call him done.
Meanwhile, every media organization and mainstream politician spends every waking moment talking about how “dangerous” Trump is to America, virtually guaranteeing his nomination as the millions of people who are dissatisfied with Washington and the media rally behind him, not because his platform is worth a damn, but because people are sick of the media and politics telling them who to hate.
We will get the government we deserve. Are we smart enough to prove that we deserve the government we want?
The GOPIggies will have to choose between one of the three stooges……T-Rump, Teabagging Ted Cruz or Big Gulp Marco.
No, this election cycle, the Republican party needs a sociopath that they can believe in: vote Trump 2016! He’s $&#*ing nuts!
