Retired Army Lt. Colonel Allen West thinks Donald Trump’s preparation for a contested convention is “kind of like” a World War II battle.
West is not exactly the sanest tool in the Fox News toolshed. And that’s not including his narrow escape from being court martialed (over the mistreatment of an Iraqi prisoner) when West retired from the Army.
But on Your World, host Neil Cavuto announced that West had “served his country honorably.”
Allen likened the new hires to paratroopers laying preparations for an amphibious assault.
ALLEN: Well, you’ve even seen Governor John Kasich bring on a couple of individuals. …And so everyone is prepared, and it's kind of like before D-Day, you send in the paratroopers to set the conditions for the amphibious assault there on the beaches of Omaha and Utah.
We know the Republican convention could be bitterly contested and fiercely fought. But isn’t it rather over-the-top to compare it to a World War II battle

But, I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised: Frothy Rick Santorum once exhorted his supporters to buy his campaign bumper stickers by claiming that the act of doing so was “the same as military service in Iraq” — and let’s not forget Daddy Bill O’Reilly’s extensive war reporting experience from his hotel suite . . .
