Fox Pretends Romney Leads In Early Voting

Posted by Ellen -7859.80pc on October 19, 2012 · Flag

On yesterday’s Your World, former Pennsylvania Senator (and former Fox News contributor) Rick Santorum spoke about early voting. Near the end, Neil Cavuto asked “How big a phenomenon is this early voting and in swing states particular, how is it going to sway?”

Santorum answered, “It’s a problem… I’m not a big fan of early voting. I mean, particularly when you’re voting 3-4 weeks out from an election because the dynamics of an election can change so dramatically… and it doesn’t really reflect the totality of a campaign… Now campaigns have to change. I think that’s not really beneficial for our country, but that’s the reality of the situation. And right now, I think it’s benefitting for these states that are starting early voting now, and several of them are, it’s benefitting Governor Romney.”

Cavuto replied, “We shall see.”

But according to polling data, that’s not the picture at all. Reuters reported this week,

Obama leads Romney by 59 percent to 31 percent among early voters, according to Reuters/Ipsos polling data compiled in recent weeks.

Richard, I mean even for that. ABC was the fairest of the networks for a while, which went against the grain. Usually, CBS is the middle name, but ABC’s dislike of Romeny skewed that.

Then they just sold themselves out in September to become Fox 2. I used to cite them excessively, now I fact-check them obsessively, and I find that CBS has become more aggressively neutral.

For what stakes CBS has in the election either way… they’re the professional name here. ABC could have had that, but they decided to go hard one way.

Starting on Tuesday, I expect Fox to do a steady drumbeat of stories about how Romney is marching into the White House and how “the race is slipping away from President Obama.” They’ll cherry pick any poll they can find that shows Romney leading in any swing state and extrapolate from there. On the 6th, they’ll press that button all day long, reading any exit poll they can that shows support for Romney until 8pm West Coast Time. At which point, the situation will be over and you’ll start to hear the excuses. And yes, “voter fraud” will be one – expect James O’Keefe to be waiting in the wings with “an explosive video” on that front…

Lately, ABC has had an increible level of pro-Romney bias. They’re actually hosting a lot of Fox’s contributors. Which is a shame, because they were the one I liked the most out of the big three when they were still honest.

@Aria Prescott:

Lemme get this straight: a RMoney supporter cites a news report on ABC as fact?

Whatever happened to ABC being part of the “librul, lamestream media in the tank for Obama?”

At this point, the indicators are showing that Obama is overwhelmingly getting the votes of the early voters in the swing states. And there’s also the matter of the Ohio voters indeed being able to vote right after church on the Sunday of Election Week.

But we will have to see what the weekend and next week’s polls show once we have a solid group of them. The Gallup number doesn’t make sense in comparison with the others. If all of the polls come back looking like that, then they’re onto something. But I strongly doubt it. And we still haven’t seen a full accounting of how much damage Romney did to himself on Wednesday and how much upward momentum Obama was able to earn.

Oh, BTW — where’s Kathleen Washington State/Theola/various other sockpuppets to tell us how this poll shouldn’t be believed?

Proving once again — as if more proof were needed — there’s quite a disconnect between reality and Faux sNooze.

@Antoinette: “We guess the frauds are suffering from Romnesia.”

It’s OK — as the President himself said, even though it’s a preexisting condition, they’re covered under Obamacare! :)

In the land of Fux Noise, reality transforms itself into the right-wing meme de jure. You want MagicUnderwear Mitt to lead in early voting (although that is a lie)? Just drag out Frothy MIxture Santorum to declare it so.

A few weeks ago, the Fox “News” frauds and their conservative co-horts, were outraged when the polls showed Obama leading. They were suspicious of the pollings and called for investigations.

We guess the frauds are suffering from Romnesia.

On yesterday’s F&F they presented polls that showed Romney in good position … forgetting to say that they were done before the second debate.

Gee Whiz, why’m not surprised?

Fux Nuze is having a troubling time rootin’ fer The Liar. How many more rehabs must they endure before rMoney starts Screaming like a Board Room Brawler as his coveted White House Trophy goes to the other guy?
