Fox’s Griff Jenkins Abruptly Ends Interview When Diner Suggests Trump Fired Comey To Quash Russia Investigation

Griff Jenkins visited a Maryland diner this morning to talk about Donald Trump’s firing of James Comey. But when Jenkins’ interviewee questioned the timing and whether Comey was finding out too much information about Trump’s links to Russia – why, suddenly Jenkins had to move on.

As the first video, via Raw Story, shows below, the diner was not very supportive of Trump. He first told Jenkins that Trump “doesn’t understand” that being president is not like being in the golf business and “we’re not building buildings.” The diner also said, “We don’t have any leadership.” So Jenkins moved on to ask for “thumbs up or thumbs down” on Comey’s firing. Raw Story writes:

“I think it should have been done much earlier,” the diner opined. “I think — not to be too Machiavellian about it — why does it take such a long time for these guys to arrive at this conclusion. Is it because we’re getting too tight in finding out too much information linked to [Russian President Vladimir Putin]?”

Oops! “We’re gettin’ tight on time,” Jenkins said. He stood up and went to another diner.

The Raw Story video ends there. But FoxNews.com has more. In that video, the second one below, Jenkins had time to briefly chat with another diner who, though he questioned the timing, was more supportive of Fox’s Glorious Leader.

Watch the two videos below, from the May 11, 2017 Fox & Friends.

I’m listening/watching CNN, too, and am getting a sense of “déjà vu”. From what I can understand, the MSM has realised that the American public is fed up with the BS. I trust that this revival of true, hard-hitting, truth-seeking journalism will foster the same sort of coverage of all sorts of corruption and misdeads that accompanied the Watergate scandal. At that time, I was visiting family in the USA and returned home pretty enheartened by the fact that the mainstream media was exercising extreme vetting on a wide range of issues. Not only of Watergate (hearings broadcast live on the TV, followed by hard-hitting analysis where no pity was shown to the spin doctors) but also a whole slew of sleuthing on corruption and things that weren’t working as intended throughout the country. I do dearly hope that the effects of this revival of the country’s deep roots will be more long-lived.

PS: just realised that President Trump’s voice seems to have trembled as he talked about why he considered Sally Yates to be “a person we didn’t know”. (interview on NBC).

I’m watching CNN covering the lie promulgated by the White House Trump fired Comey based upon a recommendation by the Attorney General’s office. Dumbass serial liar Trump has completely blown their cover story.

We can sympathize with a right-wing propaganda factory like Fox News figuring how to scrub the stink out of this story. Along with Hannity, “Fox & Freinds” are the biggest Trump ass kissers on the network. They failed their hero by not properly vetting the man on the street to maintain the integrity of their Trumpland information bubble.

While I agree fully with you, John, I’m terrified that Pence will be even worse for the country and hence the world. More wily, sneaky, less forthright. Witness his praise for President Trump’s “leadership” which flies in the face of reality on the ground where the fairly straightforward decision to fire a prominent civil servant is swathed in a fog of conflicting motivations. I’m afraid that Pence would (will?) be smarter in crafting such decisions.

What kind of crazy brinkmanship are the Repugs and their cheerleaders playing? It is now certain beyond any doubt that Trump will be flushed down the toilet of history, possibly ending his days in a prison cell and more despised than Nixon, J Edgar and McCarthy rolled together.

Surely, SURELY, these people understand that the sooner they disassociate themselves from Trump, the less stench they will carry in the inevitable aftermath.
