Fox Edits Out Important Information From Its Petraeus Scandal Timeline

Posted by Ellen -7859.80pc on November 14, 2012 · Flag

FoxNews.com adapted an Associated Press timeline of events in the sex scandal surrounding General David Petraeus. But it just so happened to delete an important line from late summer 2012: "By this time, the FBI has long since concluded there was no national security breach, but continues investigating whether Petraeus had any role in the harassing emails sent to Kelley."

If you compare the FoxNews.com timeline with the one on Politico.com (also obtained via AP), you'll see several differences. But this one is the most striking.

Politico:

Late Summer 2012— Attorney General Eric Holder is notified (of the FBI investigation into the harassing emails sent by Petraeus' mistress to Jill Kelley). By this time, the FBI has long since concluded there was no national security breach, but continues investigating whether Petraeus had any role in the harassing emails sent to Kelley.

FoxNews.com

Late summer 2012-- Attorney General Eric Holder is notified.

Why does this matter? Because Fox News is doing its best to suggest that Holder covered something up from President Obama or else informed the President of this investigation and President Obama covered it up. If all the investigation amounted to was a jealous woman sending harassing emails to another woman it's pretty understandable that Holder would not make a point of telling President Obama in the midst of a hectic campaign schedule, the Democratic National Convention, presidential debates and, of course, the attacks on American outposts in Libya and Cairo.

@Ronnie – I’ve been wondering that too. I personally haven’t heard FOX “news” discuss Cantor’s involvement despite all the coverage on the Petraeus matter. I too keep hearing talk of WH cover-up and very strong suggestions that the WH might have even been blackmailing Petraeus (without any evidence, of course) but nothing on Cantor’s involvement.

Thanks for pointing out the deliberate ommission, Ellen. I’ve heard time and time again them talk about how Holder has acted inappropriately or how Obama is lying about not knowing but nothing regarding the pertinent info that’s stated in that ommission. So much for “we report, you decide”. (eye roll)

So if the Curvy Couch Crew rants because they’re Pissed Off at something….they should be called C3PO. Ba dum dum.

I like the article from Fox Nation asking why the FBI investigated the Emails sent to Kelley, instead of it being a house investigation. It reminded me why reading them gives me headaches.

And not just because parts of it read like they expecting them to wonder why there was no Jack Bauer and Jethro Gibbs teaming up as BFFs to put national security on hold because there turned out to be a serial killer that targets enlisted military… somehow.

If your head hasn’t exploded from reading that yet, go get a Tylenol.

Neat example, Kent. That’s exactly what the foxies do all the time, especially on Fox and Friends where the “headlines” are skillfully crafted teasers that ignore crucial facts until somewhere towards the three-quarter mark in the show. A typical F&F thread has five or six teasers (aka headlines) then one segment with crucial details followed by one or two more teasers without them. Viewers are lucky to catch that factual segment which is over before they’ve even woke up from the sleep-inducing rants.

Watched the CCC (curvy couch crew) yesterday morning and sense a shift in focus from Petraeus and Broadwell towards General Allen and Jill Kelley. Rabble-rousing about their golden boy seems to be outside their comfort zone so they’ll be shifting the focus away from him.

As Ms. Kelley organises events for military in the Tampa Bay Area (high command location) I wouldn’t be at all surprised if those emails were to turn out to be nothing more than mass mailings (e.g. something to be pinned up on a bulletin board in the mess hall).

I am 100% confident that the foxies would have found out about any funny business from a disgruntled subordinate officer or soldier. But – if they did – I would have to wonder why they kept it under wraps. Just askin’

FoxHate Never Sleeps

Let’s play their game:

Rupert Murdoch, an Australian, ventured into American TV media by purchasing Metromedia. This activity is illegal under US law which prevents non-US citizens from owning American television stations.

Notice how I left out the fact that Rupert became a naturalized US citizen in order to permit the above transaction. Who cares? That’s a minor omission in the world of FoxHate.

Note to Fux

Looking good!
Keep it up!
Luv you!
