You’ve got to give it to Eric Bolling, he of the “Do as I say, not as I do” School of Fox “News” “Journalism.” It takes massive cajones to criticize Bob Beckel for doing something he does himself on a regular basis, and does worse. Furthermore, Bob Beckel was so lost in his righteous anger over Rep. Allen West’s recent comments (described by Ellen here, here and here), that he either didn’t catch Bolling in the hypocrisy, or just didn’t care to, even though it’s something he criticized Bolling for in the past.
It all began when Beckel took Rep. West’s suggested that he get the hell out of ‘Merka personally, even though the Florida representative was speaking about all Progressives in general. Beckel rarely ever takes to Twitter, but because he sent out the following mid-Monday, it was a sure bet a segment of The Five was coming:
Ok i went 2 far on West he served with distinction but that doesn't excuse sick comment He pays no price?why do wingers say this & I can't?
While Dana Perino introduced the topic on The Five, she turned it right over to BoB Beckel. Bob had built up a good head of steam excoriating West, before Bolling broke in with the rankest of rank hypocrisy:
EB: [3:25 in the first video] Can I just point something out? You’re calling him Allen West. Either call him Representative Allen West—
BB: I’m not going to call him representative anything!
EB: —or call him Lieutenant Colonel Allen West—
BB: I’m not going to call him that either.
EB: —because he was in the army—
BB: I don’t care!
EB: —a war hero.
If Beckel had his wits about him, he would have just reminded Bully Boy Bolling how many times he’s called the President of the United States of America “Obama,” or even specifically refered him to the January 10, 2012 edition of The Five where Bolling called the president “Barry.” [Second video] You called him on it that day, Bob. How could you let Eric Bolling get away with that rank hypocrisy on Monday’s show?
11/27/19 Update: The second video is no longer available.
