After the epic confrontation between Megyn Kelly and Newt Gingrich last night over Donald Trump, the candidate could not resist grabbing some of the limelight today.

If you ask me, Kelly wiped the floor with Gingrich and, by extension, Trump. First, she demolished Gingrich’s argument that Trump has a much better chance of winning the election than the polls indicate. Then, she went straight at Trump’s predatory behavior toward women without flinching. (Let me point out, however, that she did not say a word about his bigotry.)

Gingrich got angry, accused her of bias and unfairness toward Trump and then, in a quote which will probably dog the serial adulterer who impeached a president over a blow job, Gingrich said, “You are fascinated with sex and you don’t care about public policy. That’s what I get out of watching you tonight.”

That’s probably not a good look for a guy defending Trump against accusations of sexual harassment and worse.

But Trump thought otherwise. Today, during a ribbon-cutting ceremony at his newest hotel, Trump congratulated Gingrich:

TRUMP: By the way, congratulations, Newt, on last night. That was an amazing interview. It was an amazing [sic].
