Here we go again. I have a feeling we're going to see real fireworks tonight and I'm not sure if that will make it better or worse. Either way, share your thoughts and observations on either night’s debate, or both, after the jump.
As an FYI, I’ve been busy on deadline with project that has nothing to do with blogging, the news or the right wing. I finished up today and will be back to my normal schedule tomorrow. I hope to post then about Fox News’ disgusting reactions to the debates, along with their other assaults on decency then!
Do you like this post?

Eyes on Fox, I agree the debates are staged for ratings and donors, not the public. Still, I feel they have value and will keep watching.
I have found the CNN town halls much more substantive. They’re available for free as podcasts, in case you’re interested and have missed them. The Fox town halls have not been bad, either.

mlp, I agree Biden should have been prepared. Before this debate, Pod Save America, who are Biden loyalists, though not necessarily backers of his candidacy, talked about how he resists advice of his advisers.

Yes, Biden is a disappointment. He refuses to prepare and ends up looking like a doddering old man. Last night’s humiliation better wake him up.
Until they greatly whittle down the field I plan to skip future debates. The current format is a waste of time and, quite frankly, hinders me in understanding the candidates because it is so superficial.

She did well, yes, but didn’t win me over. She actually made me feel sorry for Biden

I was not bowled over by Kamala Harris’ attack on Biden. She made a big point of admonishing colleagues for not engaging in a food fight, then she staged an obviously pre-planned attack on Biden over something that I thought was more indicative of him being out of touch than racist. I know Harris’ attack was pre-planned because she tweeted out a photo of her as a student moments after the event.

I enjoyed both debates and found them interesting and edifying. But I’m no closer to having a favorite candidate. I like all of them and I have qualms about all of them.

Bernie had a weak closing argument. Populists need a bogeyman.

I’d vote for Bernie on a heartbeat but I am tired of being yelled at by him.

I missed last night. Starting to wish I missed tonight. Too many people shouting for attention and saying too little and taking easy out with slogans, easy demagoguery. Format is failing.
