It seems to me the only winners were the American citizens , we found out after listening to these Clowns for several tedious boring hours there was not one candidate worth listening or voting for. And to have Jeb stating that his imbecile brother kept us safe is adding insult to injury. So let us rejoice we the people were the winners.
Bernie ! Bernie ! Bernie!!

Ellen – thanks for the explanation. It seems I hear it all the time and it always strikes me as speaker saying the opposite of what he/she really means. LOL!

Listening to the 2 or 3 who advocate alternative taxation systems, I got the impression they didn’t know what they were talking about. On this issue, only Trump seemed to make some sense. Heck, he sounded like Buffet! … almost. Because Buffet really does master the subject.

d d, In the NY metro area, “could care less” means “couldn’t care less.” It’s sarcasm.

From what I’m hearing/reading, Fiorina and Rubio were stand-outs last night which would explain why I’m seeing calls for a Fiorina/Rubio or a Rubio/Fiorina ticket. From what I saw of the debate, I think they both did well for themselves last night with, in my opinion, Fiorina coming out on top.
There was, of course, too much Trump and I thought he was rather underwhelming and still too vague on policy. I thought his eventual remark about Fiorina having a “beautiful face” only served to make him look weak and women aren’t going to buy it at this point.
Jeb did much better this time than last. But when Trump rightfully pointed out that his brother left the country a mess (which, Trump believes, is why Obama got elected), all Jeb could come back with was “he kept us safe”. That was a weak (and untrue) response despite the audience stupidly clapping for it like it was a winning response.
Huckabee was, well, he was just Huckabee and I wasn’t impressed as he’s largely a one-trick pony who is, in my opinion, focused far too much on moral/social issues.
Nice guy Carson was totally unimpressive and I know no more about his policy than I did before the debate. Paul tried but didn’t make much of a dent. Walker didn’t do much for me at all and didn’t look anymore Presidential at this debate than he did the last one. I think Kasich did better in the last debate despite him stressing his record as OH Governor and his desire for uniting the country. I can’t quite put my finger on it but I don’t think Cruz really did himself any favors last night. His “I’m a bad ass” schtick is getting old and he got properly called out on his criticism of Judge Roberts (rather funny considering Cruz wrote a recommendation saying that Roberts should be confirmed “swiftly”). He had to concede that he had made a mistake by backing Roberts. LOL!
I thought Christie was trying waaaay too hard to put himself out there as a “man of the people”. And, to me, his attack on Fiorina and Trump by saying that the folks “could care less” (shouldn’t that have been couldn’t care less?) about their business records was bullish!t. Just as Christie’s, Bush’s, Kasich’s and Huckabee’s records as Governors count, so do Trump’s and Fiorina’s business records. I realize that Christie was trying to get the focus off them and bring it back to himself and what he claims he can do for the folks, but I think the finger-waggin’ schoolmarm way he went about it (calling them childish) was completely unnecessary and rather tacky.
At least the viewers got to hear a bit more about some of the issues and some differences came out between the GOP candidates (on immigration, government shut-down, the SCOTUS, the Iran deal and marijuana legalization). I have admit that I didn’t watch the last 1/2 hour. It was too long and I had enough of it. I also didn’t watch the earlier debate amongst the GOPers at the kids’ table.
Hopefully, after the results of the debate come out in the polls, some of these GOPers will see the light and get out of the race.

Ellen: Jeb: One thing about my brother, he kept us safe.
Well, except for 9/11, the worst terrorist attack on our soil.
-——-
Yeah, I know, right? Not a single candidate could be bothered to dispute what Jeb said about his brother. It always seems that Dubya is given a pass when it comes to 9/11 even though he/his admin were warned that Bin Laden/al Qaeda were laying the ground to attack us via plane hijackings.
What about the 13 US embassy/consulate attacks that happened under his brother?! You know, the ones that FOX “news” seemed to conveniently forget about when BENGHAZI!!! happened?
Plus, we had the anthrax attacks and the attack on the Jewish Federation in Seattle while Bush was Prez. I remember being in the DC area during the sniper attacks – I don’t know about Jeb and the rest of those GOPers but that sure felt like terrorism to those of us who couldn’t help but think about being shot anytime we stepped outside. And, luckily for Bush, the stupid Shoe Bomber failed. There were also several terrorist attacks on abortion clinics and the assassination of Tiller but, of course, those are not considered terrorism by the righties.
