Chris Wallace appeared on Fox News Radio’s Kilmeade & Friends today where he discussed Mitt Romney’s recent three-nation tour. Wallace was fairly critical of Romney for acting more like a CEO than a president but perhaps in an attempt to provide “balance,” Wallace called a Romney aide “a hero” for telling reporters to “kiss my ass.”
Toward the end of his comments, Wallace said, “If you watch the tape… of the reporter shouting at him at… a site of some respect and some reverence …to the Poles, and shouting at him, …‘Have your gaffes overshadowed the trip?’ That’s not a question that you’re expecting an answer. That’s a tantrum, and quite frankly I thought the press guy for the Romney campaign who told him to shove it, and show some respect, ‘Kiss my blank.’ You know what? He’s a hero as far as I’m concerned.”
Kilmeade was stunned. “Is he really?”
”Yes, …I think that was fine for him to do that,” Wallace said.
”You can’t say this is a holy site, like the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and then curse somebody out,” Kilmeade argued.
Wallace said, “I don’t know… What the reporter did was wrong.”
A hero for cursing out reporters at a Polish site? Is Wallace going to make that aide this week’s Power Player of the Week on Fox News Sunday? I’ll bet Wallace would feel differently if an Obama aide cursed out a Fox News reporter.
Funny, yes.
This would be like saying watch your fucking language.
In other words, the much ballyhooed ‘endorsement’ was more or less just pre-emptive civility… which he took back later, probably due to Romney’s behavior elsewhere.
Yeah, facts are a bitch for the right at this point.
