Of all the bias I've seen on Fox in the eight years since I've been writing about the "fair and balanced" network, I don't think anything could be worse than the continuing role of Heather Childers as "objective news" host. You may recall she tweeted a request for “thoughts” as to whether or not the Obama campaign threatened to kill Chelsea Clinton in order to keep Bill and Hillary Clinton from spilling the beans about then-candidate Barack Obama’s birth certificate. Not only does Childers still have her job co-hosting America's News HQ, which is supposed to an "objective" news show, but she's also the co-host of Fox & Friends First where Fox had no problem with her hosting a segment about the Fast and Furious controversy.
On Friday (6/22/12), Childers introduced a segment about Fast and Furious by saying:
White House spokesperson Jay Carney defending the use of the executive privilege, saying that it's about the principle.
She played a clip of Carney. Co-host Heather Nauert played a clip of Charles Krauthammer blasting President Obama. Then Childers brought up the new GOP/Fox News "make it about Brian Terry and his family" talking point.
The parents of the slain border patrol agent, Brian Terry, they're also talking this morning, reacting to President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder's handling of the botched guns program.
From there, Heather Nauert explicitly said that Mrs. Terry believes the White House "is hiding something."
Even though Darrell Issa told Chris Wallace today that there's no evidence of a White House cover up.
But nothing says "fair and balanced" like a birther conspiracy theorist helping to suggest otherwise on Fox News!
