Ben Stein: I’m Not Sure Donald Trump Is ‘Right In The Head’

Fox News regular Ben Stein didn’t just call on Donald Trump to drop out of the presidential campaign, Stein bluntly described Trump as an unqualified nut job.

STEIN: I think it would be awfully nice if there would be some way for [Trump] to drop out, put Pence at the top of the ticket … and have Mr. Trump go off gracefully over to Trump Tower. I mean, he’s shown himself to be an extremely flawed candidate, and I’m not totally sure he’s right in the head, to tell you the truth.

Host Neil Cavuto said Trump is “not going anywhere” because “it’s a byzantine process” to get him off the ticket. Cavuto also mentioned that he has talked to Republican Party leaders who assume the race is lost and are “focusing on 2020” instead. “It just seems a bit to soon for that to me,” Cavuto added. “But what do you think?”

STEIN: I don’t think the leadership is smart enough or clever enough to do that. I think those of us who might be considered elder (I hate to say that) statesmen of the party do assume at this point it’s pretty much a lost cause, and we have to plan for a better candidate next time. I think Mrs. Clinton was eminently beatable, but we happened to choose a candidate who is just kind of a wacky guy, who is not a particularly a hard-working guy where policy issues were concerned.

“The Republican party always comes back, Neil,” Stein assured the Fox News viewers, “and we’re going to come back and be stronger than ever.” He predicted that Hillary Clinton “will not be a particularly successful president.” He also called Trump an “unpredictable, loose cannon.”

When Ben Stein calls you nuts, you’re nuts. That comes from a position of deep personal knowledge.

Quote from Ben Stein:

“……and I’m not totally sure he’s right in the head, to tell you the truth.”

Hmmmmmmmmmm, I’m surprised he didn’t do his routine from the movie “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”:

“DONALD?……….DONALD?………DONALD?……..”
