Newt Gingrich is going to soothe those old-guy Trumpster feathers that Megyn Kelly ruffled last night by visiting with his Fox soulmate, Sean Hannity, tonight.
Gingrich had been scheduled to appear on Fox & Friends this morning but did not. Was he bumped or did he back out? Whatever the reason, we can be sure that Hannity will help shore up Gingrich’s battered ego and, perhaps more importantly, the Trump talking points that Kelly demolished last night.
And there will be an all-Trumpster lineup to help reinforce the message!

Julie, thanks for the offer of having Megyn Kelly. As a libtard, can I exorcise the right to not let her have a multimillion $ contract at a major news outlet? I’m pretty sure there are actual qualified people who could do that without bringing Kelly’s evil qualities to the table.
I think she would be better suited to selling real estate in the suburbs. My vocational opinion.

I see Julie’s childish “libtard” smear here and it pretty much seals my opinion on Fox hosts like Megyn Kelly and Bill O’Reilly. I don’t think they’re as conservative as many (most?) Fox viewers so they are occasionally inconsistent in their spin. They’ll stray too much off the reservation like the embarrassing moment Bill tangled with Rush where he had to quickly pivot back to the right-wing straight and very narrow path (by humiliating himself and kissing Rish’s ass). In the end, both will tell Fox viewers what they want to hear overall for the fat paycheck.
I saw much of Hannity’s show with Newt. I saw a different agenda and no hint at Newt’s splat with Megyn. Hannity first did a comical Trump path to victory electoral college segment which Newt was asked to rubber stamp. Then there was a mutual masturbation segment on parroting the Trumpian the fix is in by the mainstream media using a wild distortion of a WikiLeaks’ email (which I’ve bothered to read unlike apparently Sean or Newt) as a launchpad. After that I went to bed so maybe I missed something?
Will Kelly leave Fox? It’s all about the pay and the hours (so she can see her kids more). I don’t think she’s a true believer like, say, Hannity. That’s not to say Megyn isn’t conservative.

Ellen— Hannity is actually, rather weirdly, a lot more rational about polls than most other right-wingers on Fox and elsewhere. His somewhat garbled tour of the Electoral College wasn’t far off from what more rational analysts have put forward as a remote but possible path to 270 for Trump. And Hannity was pretty damn pessimistic about the possibilities— for him anyway.
He picks only the most favorable polls to talk about, but none of us know at this point how accurate or inaccurate they are, so it’s not at all unreasonable for a cheerleader.
Hannity is doing wishful thinking on this one issue rather than outright deception.
I’ve heard him several times recently say to Gingrich or Giuliani that he trust these MSM polls to a large extent. I have no idea why he embraces this one bit of real-world data, but he generally does.
By contrast, his soul brother over at Fox Biz, Lou Dobbs, has totally bought into the “oversampling” nonsense and the “secret Trump voters” and of course the MSM Clinton conspiracy to discount the polls altogether— unless, of course, they’re favorable to Trump.
This is one area I grudgingly have to give Hannity a modicum of credit for.
I think he’s known very well for a while that Trump is going down, and he’s turned his efforts to trashing Clinton as much as possible to lay the groundwork for when she takes office.
That’s my take anyway.

Jane S,
Newt definitely did not look like a happy camper on Hannity tonight. In fact, none of the Trumpeters did.
In the first segment, though, it seem as though Hannity was rebutting Kelly on Trump’s poll numbers and arguing that he could win.

Here’s an article about how much Murdoch wants Kelly to stay at Fox.

Actually, Julie, I’m sorry to burst your bubble, but Kelly is asking for $20 million to stay at Fox and she’ll probably get it. They’re dying for her to renew her contract and she’s guest hosting on Live with Kelly right after her book comes out.
I’m no Kelly fan but she’s a much hotter property right now than Newt and she just made herself even hotter.
And, by the way, your childish use of insults likes “libtard” doesn’t do much to persuade me you are an intelligent person. Just saying.

Newtie was also on Dobbs tonight. On neither show did either the Kelly confrontation or Trump’s sexually predatory behavior come up. But Newtie is clearly not a happy camper. He typically laughs and chuckles happily during Fox interviews Not tonight.
Of course, Trump’s worsening polls can’t help, but he and the rest of them all seem to be vehemently in denial about that.

Gary, she was not dying. She was recovering from cancer surgery, but she was not dying. I don’t want to give Newtie too much credit here, but if she was dying, all he would have to do is wait.

Megyn is toning it down tonight. She must know the writing is on the wall. She is close to having no viewers on Fox. You libtards can have her.

Isn’t this the guy who wanted Bill Clinton impeached for consensual sex? And told his dying wife he was dumping her for somebody younger? You Republicans are like a bad joke.
