Didn't you just know it was only a matter of time until Fox News started blaming President Obama for the Boston bombings? On Fox Nation right now, there's a post called, "Telegraph: Boston Bombs: Obama Lulled America Into False Confidence Over Terror Threat."

Developing. Fox News is reporting that "Suspect #2" is now in custody.

For the newest, hottest wingnut conspiracies, one need look no further than Fox News' discredited "security expert" Steve Emerson, whose Islamophobia and paranoia about Muslims dovetails nicely with that of Roger Ailes. As part of its Islamophobic "fair & balanced" news coverage, Fox is always willing to provide face time for whatever bogus and bigoted crap peddled by Emerson who is described as a "misinformation expert" in the report on American Islamophobia, "Fear Inc.," from the Center for American Progress. After the Boston bombing, it didn't take long for the usual suspects in the right wing crazy conspiracy network to find out that the Saudi student who was investigated and cleared is now being deported because - wait for it - Pres. Obama is trying to cover up "Saudi link to Boston bombings." And that was enough to roust Emerson from his bat cave (true story) to discuss this with Hannity whose secret sources confirm it. Problem is - it's all bullshit.

By her own admission, Fox's Judith Miller admits that information is still sketchy about the background of the Boston bombing suspects. But that didn't stop her from writing a column called, "A desire to be part of an 'epic struggle' -- a new profile of jihadis," that's pure speculation that the brothers are jihadists. And then Miller speculates about what they are like, after assuming that they are jihadists.

BOSTON — One of the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings was killed early Friday morning after leading the police on a wild chase following the fatal shooting of a campus police officer, while the other was sought in a massive manhunt that shut down large parts of the area. Gov. Deval Patrick of Massachusetts said residents of Boston and its neighboring communities should “stay indoors, with their doors locked.”

Ed Henry was back on The O’Reilly Factor tonight to help Bill O’Reilly once again use Benghazi to suggest that President Obama will somehow flub the Boston Marathon bombing investigation. Of course, there’s almost no similarity between a bomb going off in the middle of an American sporting event and a firefight at a CIA compound in Libya. But an opportunity to smear President Obama is one that “objective” Henry just couldn’t turn down. Especially since O’Reilly had already signaled to him earlier in the week that that’s what he wanted.

As you may know, conservative Erik Rush - one of Sean Hannity's designated African American black attackers - tweeted shortly after the Boston Marathon bombings that Muslims are "evil." "Let's kill them all." After Right Wing Watch exposed him, Rush claimed he was being sarcastic. But a new column from him shows otherwise.

Fox News Boston Marathon Bombings Politicization: Barney Frank Edition. A few days ago, I posted about Megyn Kelly’s politicization of the Boston Marathon bombings by harping on the insensitivity/politicization from Democrats. Her opprobrium then was aimed at Democratic Congressmen Steny Hoyer and Xavier Becerra. Last night, “high-minded” Bill O’Reilly’s tender sensibilities were so offended by comments from Barney Frank that he spent not one, not two, but three segments discussing him. In round three, O’Reilly told “sensitive” Dennis Miller that they should go to Frank’s house, gather a crowd, do their “Bolder, Fresher” road show on his block and then “drag him out” and “uh, we can’t do physical violence to him… but we’ll scorn him.” 

There were two large explosions at a Texas fertilizer plant near Waco tonight. FoxNews.com reports numerous injuries, major damage to structures and people trapped in a nearby nursing home and apartment building. But Fox News Channel is going with a rerun of The O'Reilly Factor. Better to keep bashing Barney Frank than cover the news, eh? (Hat Tip A.M.)
