Republican Bobby Jindal’s Solution For The Uninsured: Become A Private Charity Case
Governor Bobby Jindal (R-LA) visited Fox News Sunday yesterday where he promoted his new non-profit designed to provide, as host Chris Wallace put it, an “affirmative, conservative agenda for the nation’s problems." But when asked what he might do for the large number of uninsured in Louisiana, Jindal’s answer didn’t exactly sound like an appealing alternative.

The religious right loves to talk about how settlers came to the American colonies to escape religious persecution. Flash forward a few hundred years and it's the Christians who are trying to force their Christianity onto everybody else - including in the public square where it doesn't, constitutionally, belong. And when the forces of nasty atheism object to taxpayer funded Christianity, those who stand for Jesus get warm Christian affirmation, on Fox News, from official Fox priest Fr. Jonathan Morris who just gets so upset about those nasty atheists who are trying to "wipe" the "name and voice of God" from our Christian nation. And according to the cute little padre, that's exactly what's happening in Montgomery Alabama where a taxpayer funded program, to place Christian clergy at crime scenes, is being challenged by - wait for it - those who are trying to wipe out the name and voice of God. Morris shouldn't worry his pretty little head. As long as we have Fox News, where "God" gets top ratings, that won't be happening any time soon!
Read moreElisabeth Hasselbeck Hosts Reincarnated WWII Pilot!
Apart from the topless "Page three girls," Fox & Friends might be the closest that Rupert Murdoch's Fox News gets to one of Murdoch's British tabloids. (The female Fox friends do show a lot of leg which, for conservative Christians, is sufficiently titillating!) Like the infamous tabloids (Murdoch's NY Post included), Fox & Friends engages in a toxic brew of lighthearted chat with and about entertainment figures combined with lighthearted slander of those in the opposition party. And like the tabloids, Fox & Friends features sensationalist material such as stories of those who have died and gone to Christian heaven. But forget celestial journeys, this morning, Elisabeth Hasselbeck interviewed a young man, James Leininger, who claims to be the reincarnation of a World War II fighter pilot. No, I'm not kidding. I wish I were!

Read moreTucker Carlson: Media Treats Gays Better Than Christians
The popular Fox meme, that minorities play the "victim card," truly underscores their hypocrisy and double standard in that the supposedly "fair & balanced" network is constantly promoting the sense of victimhood held by the right wing Christians for whom and to whom Fox broadcasts its propaganda. The Christian right's righteous whine about how they don't get any respect from librul Hollywood has been frequently validated on Fox. And it's just not Hollywood. According to defender of the (Christian) faith, Bill O'Reilly it's the media, too. Bill's recent claim about the media (some of whom have dared to criticize "Killing Jesus") was further advanced, last Sunday, by Episcopal Church hating Tucker Carlson whose obvious propaganda messaging on behalf of the homophobic religious right, once again, showed us why he is such a "dick."

It's time for our weekly peek into the minds of Fox News viewers via the batch of emails sent to us from people who thought they were writing to the "fair and balanced" network. This week's crop is as revealing as ever. We've got "the truth about Obamacare" from someone who thought nothing more needed to be said about what that truth might be. Also, somebody wants to know where Jenna Lee gets her shoes. And someone who thinks Fox News is biased against conservatives. Really. All that and more after the jump.
Read moreNo, Hoenig and Fields, The U.S. Health Care System Isn’t Even Close To Being The Best
On today’s Cashin’ In, the fat-cat conservatives fearmongered about the Affordable Care Act (“Obamacare”) by discussing how the problems of its co-ops could leave taxpayers on the hook for a billion dollars. Not surprisingly, it was left to liberal Juan Williams to point out how the co-ops’ problems are largely the fault of Congressional restrictions put in place after lobbying from the insurance industry – and thanks to budget cuts demanded by Republicans. Instead, the Fox News conservatives suggested it was all because President Obama had somehow impeded our country’s fabulous free market health care.
Read moreBob Beckel’s Dubious ‘White House Bludgeoned Me Over Obamacare’ Story
OK, quick question: An employee on your network goes on the air, and claims that the White House called him personally, to attack him for opining that the Affordable Care Act (“Obamacare”) mandate should be delayed. He won’t name names and gets dodgy when pressed for details. What do you do? Well, if you’re Fox News and the employee is “liberal” Bob Beckel, you promote the claim largely unquestioned. Later, when he changes the story and says it was a former White House official and that Beckel was the one doing the calling, you continue hyping the story anyway.
