Juan Williams Leaps To Defend Bill O’Reilly’s Race Baiting
Fox News has come under some well-deserved fire for its shameless and shameful race baiting of late. In a sign that the “fair and balanced” (and lily-white) network is feeling the heat – and can’t take the kind of criticism they make their money dishing out - there’s been a lot of whining going on from the race-baiters in chief, Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly. Now comes Fox News African American Juan Williams to the race-baiting rescue. Just pay no attention to Williams’ own checkered history on the subject.

There are books, written by authors of various and no religious affiliations, about Jesus as there are books about other religions written by Christians. But now that a Muslim has authored a book, placing Jesus in the historical context of a very volatile Judea under a brutal Roman regime, the Christian right is having a collective freak out, claiming that the supposed anti-Christian bias of his book stems from his religion. Fox jumped onboard the bandwagon with Lauren Green's question, during her interview with Reza Aslan about his new biography of Jesus, as to why a Muslim would write about Jesus. Aslan took umbrage with this and has criticized Fox on other networks. Not surprisingly, the Islam bashing Fox news is defending Green and attacking Aslan whose big sin is his denial of Jesus' divinity. That, of course, isn't the case as Aslan is merely exploring Jesus' historical context. And in any history, the faith of the author is irrelevant*. Today, on the supposed "news" show, "America Live," Shannon Bream and right wing Catholic Brent Bozell worked some primo Fox propaganda in trashing Aslan, the credibility of Muslim writers, and, drum roll please, the librul media. Sweet.
Read moreShannon Bream, Mike Gallagher Scoff At African-American Concerns Over High School 'Redneck Day'
Fox News never wastes an opportunity to accuse the African-American community of playing the victim with bogus complaints about discrimination. Yet, Fox News provides a platform for countless Christians who are making bogus complaints about how badly they are being treated. Last week, one of Fox's stable of bubble-headed bleached blondes giving us "dirty laundry" on America Live (offical news program), Shannon Bream, hosted a discussion about the silliness of complaints, against an Arizona school, over "Redneck Day," an event which included a student sporting a Confederate flag cape. Concerns about the whole affair have prompted a federal investigation which Bream, and her right wing guest, Mike Gallagher (he who wants Muslims profiled) think is a waste of taxpayer money which should be spent on getting to the bottom of -drum roll please - Benghazi!!!!!
Read moreChris Hayes' Devastating Spoof Of Fox News Race Baiting: It's Time For White People To Speak Out Against The Ills Of White Culture!
MSNBC's Chris Hayes may well have done THE ultimate takedown last night of Fox News' race baiting disguised as concern trolling. Based on an equally terrific post at Gawker by Jefferson Cord, Hayes and guest Cord satirically exposed the "white criminal culture" and demanded white people face up to the problem and take action! Must see TV - and we've got the video after the jump.
Read moreAlan Colmes: Hannity And Limbaugh Not Leaving Talk Radio
Alan Colmes, a veteran of talk radio before he ever landed at Fox News, has some words for liberals who think that the recent news of Cumulus Media dropping Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh means they're on their way into oblivion: not so. What's really happening, Colmes argues persuasively, is an adjustment of how their shows are distributed.
Read moreSarah Palin: It’s ‘Common Sense’ To Shut Down The Government Over Obamacare
Sarah Palin visited the Hannity show last night where she offered her deepest thoughts on Obamacare – which pretty much amounted to reiterating her death panel Lie of the Year for 2009 and egging on the Tea Party to make a “wise decision” and force a government shutdown over defunding Obamacare.
Read moreNo, Sean Hannity Does Not Deserve An Apology From Al Sharpton
Sean Hannity followed in Bill O’Reilly’s footsteps last night in devoting a segment to blasting Al Sharpton for having criticized Fox News’ race baiting. Or, as Hannity put it, the network's “honest conversation about race relations in the country in the aftermath of the George Zimmerman trial.” Later, Hannity demanded that Al Sharpton apologize because one of his guests called Hannity and O’Reilly “professional assassins” on racial issues. But if that’s the case, Hannity owes all African Americans countless apologies. Because while the O’Reilly Factor may be beating him out at the moment, the Hannity show is the go-to place on cable news for blatant race-based attacks on African Americans of all stripes (except Republicans).
Read moreFox News, Muslim Author Reza Aslan, Lauren Green And Jesus
In case you missed it, Fox News’ Lauren Green conducted an interview with religious scholar Reza Aslan last week. Aslan, a Muslim who converted to Christianity and then back again, appeared on Fox to discuss his latest book, Zealot, a historical exploration of Jesus Christ. But Green’s ignorant, bigoted hostility was so shocking and repulsive that the video has gone viral, religious leaders have condemned her and now the Washington Post media critic has called for an apology.
Read moreBrian Kilmeade Validates Hate Group Member Who Says Women In Combat Jeopardize US Security
It's a man's world for the radical right wing patriarchy which is pretty pissed off about the inclusion of women into roles heretofore reserved for males. As the media mouthpiece for those who are desperately clinging to outdated gender norms, it's not surprising that Fox & Friends would advance the agenda of those groups who seek to erode the gains that women have made in the workplace, including the military. This morning, Brain Brian Kilmeade interviewed Robert Maginnis, from the SPLC homophobic hate group, The Family Research Council, about how putting women in combat could put America's security at risk. And BTW, Maginnis said the same thing about allowing gays to openly serve in the military. Nice to see Fox's patriotic morning Team America embrace the hate.
