O’Reilly Consults Glenn Beck For Insights Into Obama’s Outreach to African Americans
Don’t tell me Bill O’Reilly doesn’t know Glenn Beck’s history of making racial attacks on President Obama. So there was simply no excuse for the show to trot out Beck to “weigh in,” as FoxNews.com put it, as to whether “Obama’s African American voter ad (is) offensive” without noting that history. But that’s exactly what happened on The O’Reilly Factor last night.

Despite the fact that Bill O’Reilly despises me, I actually like him sometimes. I even find him quite funny at times. Tonight was one of those occasions, especially his discussion with John Stossel about whether or not there should be laws banning public nudity. I actually burst out laughing while I watched it at the gym (i.e. in public). My reputation may be ruined but in the spirit of fairness and balance and for a little lightheartedness on a summer’s eve, I thought I’d share it with you.

Bill O’Reilly added to the Fox News pile on against the Brooklyn principal who decided to pull Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the U.S.A.” from her school’s kindergarten graduation. Rather than do any real investigation into the reasons for the decision, O’Reilly announced, “This woman obviously doesn’t like the country, that’s what I think.” Later, he said he’d send ambush producer Jesse Watters to the graduation if she didn’t explain her decision. Never mind that she already has.
Read moreTrump Blasts Bill Maher for Saying America Should Get Over Its Exceptionalism – Then Blasts Some of America’s Most Exceptional Attributes
Donald Trump would like America to be exceptional and have the rest of the world in awe of us, but as he told Greta Van Susteren last night, he isn’t too keen on actually doing things that would earn the US some respect abroad.
Read moreFox Nation Actively Campaigns For Allen West?
Despite its claim to being "fair & balanced," Fox Nation does seem to tilt a teensy bit right. (Ya think!) And now that campaign season has begun, it's interesting to see how Fox Nation is moving from mere reporting on right wing candidates to actual activism. As such, they are urging their viewers to watch Congressman Allen West's newest campaign ad in a thread titled "Watch, Allen West's Epic New Ad." "Epic?" So much for journalistic objectivity and "a commitment to the core principals of...fair and balanced coverage of the news." Wonder if they'll encourage the "nation" to watch an ad from West's opponent and if so, will they consider it "epic?" (Ya think!)
Todd Starnes Exaggerates Community Enragement?
In right wing Fox world, any perceived affront to the right wing community by those groups not beloved by the right wing is described in hyperbolic terms connoting extreme distress. "Outrage" is the usual term of endearment but Todd Starnes got creative and in his story about a graduation speech given in Spanish, he used the word "enrage" to describe the reaction of the local community. The title of his report is "Spanish Graduation Speech Enrages Community." He writes that "many people" were upset that the valedictorian gave his speech in Spanish. But the article that he links to, in the local press, states that the school principal has received positive as well as negative feedback. The negative feedback -"half a dozen or so calls" to the school department. Oh well, now that Starnes' article is on Fox Nation, that proud to be American community will certainly become enraged.
Hannity Turns To Coulter And Phony Dem Caddell To Blame Obama For National Security Leaks
The investigation into the national security leaks hasn’t even begun yet Fox News has already decided the Obama administration is guilty. But now, thanks to the unsubstantiated theory of Pat “I play a Democrat on Fox News TV” Caddell, Fox is fingering National Security Advisor Tom Donilon as the leaker. And for Hannity, that’s reason enough to accuse Obama of being at the heart of it all.
Read moreCavuto Interview Suggests GOP Wants Scott To Back Off Voter Purge
When Governor Rick Scott (R-FL) appeared on Your World today, host Neil Cavuto asked surprisingly tough questions about Scott’s voter purge. It was uncharacteristic for Cavuto to be so skeptical toward any Republican governor, especially one that’s been in the cross-hairs of public scrutiny. It was even more uncharacteristic for a Fox News host not to cheerlead any and all efforts against voter fraud. But Cavuto’s questions suggested he (and the Republican Party) are worried that the voter purge could lose Florida for Mitt Romney.
Read moreKarl Rove’s Super PAC “Jokes” That Commerce Secretary Bryson’s Seizure Was Drunk Driving
On Saturday evening, Commerce Secretary John Bryson was involved in an incident where he hit two cars in quick succession. ABC News reports that he was initially suspected of a hit and run, before medical professionals confirmed that he had a seizure. Think Progress notes in their report that this is his second major seizure incident in four years - the first one being when he collapsed at a meeting in 2008. However, American Crossroads, the brainchild of Fox News contributor Karl Rove, thought that it would be cute to post on Twitter that he was driving drunk. To make it even worse, a spokesman for the group explained to TPM that was it was posted as a joke. Yeah, that's so funny I could throw up.
Read moreFox Nation Race Baiting Thread Asks If African-American Woman "Hates America"
As I reported below, an African American Coney Island School Principal is getting harassed with vile racist comments because of her decision to remove Lee Greenwood's "I'm Proud to be an American." (Some irony there!) So just to make sure that this continues, Fox Nation, a site "for those opposed to intolerance" has posted a thread, complete with photo of this woman and the headline "Does This Principal Hate America?" Nuff said!
