It's Sunday, a special day for all those Jesus loving/atheist hating Christians who watch Fox News - so what better day to rev up that sense of Christian outrage and get those Christian victimhood juices flowing than another tale of Christian persecution at the hands of secular forces. In the ongoing apocalyptic fight between the forces of Christian goodness and atheist evil, on Fox News known as "The Fight for Faith," the newest battle, involves an Arkansas pizza parlor which is offering a Sunday discount to those who bring in a church bulletin. But no good deed goes unpunished and, once again, the nasty Freedom From Religion Foundation is invoking that nasty Civil Rights Act to say that this practice is unconstitutional. What? You can have pepperoni but no Jesus with your pizza?!

Just when you think that Steve Doocy or Eric Bolling might be the dullest tool in the Fox shed, along comes somebody else who takes the word stupid to a whole new level. Lately, that honorific could be bestowed on Andrea Tantaros who seems to think that Islamic history all started with the Barbary pirates and that it's really atheists who are violating the 1st Amendment in trying to impose their atheist religion on America's Christians. And along with making inane comments, Tantaros also specializes in base bigotry most of which is directed at Islam which she says is - ready for it - intolerant! But earlier this week, she might have surpassed her usual level of idiocy and verbal slime in her vile comment directed towards Eric Holder who is a major bête noire (pun intended) for Fox News. In what could only be described as rich irony, Tantaros accused Holder of race baiting. Pot, meet kettle?

On Wednesday, Your World consulted “crisis management guru” Shep Hyken to rip President Obama's golfing after the James Foley beheading as “some of the worst optics he’s seen,” as host Stuart Varney announced in the introduction. But Hyken took it a step further by saying that it sends a bad message to world leaders. As if Fox’s constant harping on every single thing Obama does and says doesn’t send a worse message.

In its report Fear Inc., the Center for American Progress describes Fox News as an "echo chamber" for Islamophobia in its use of anti-Islamic contributors who act as "validators" for the extreme views of "Islamophobia misinformation experts" such as Steve Emerson and David Horowitz who are warmly welcomed on Fox. The report lists Fox contributor Walid Phares as a "validator" who "is touted" as an expert on Islam and notes his ties to a Lebanese militia responsible for massacres in refugee camps. Phares' big shtick is promoting the conspiracy that mainstream American Islam is really a cover for jihadist cells. So who better to scold Muslims, on Fox & Friends, about not condemning ISIS.  This, of course, is a lie - but then this is also Fox & Friends.

When Fox News aired its “Live Free Or Die: ObamaCare in New Hampshire” special, I called it a thinly-veiled gift to former Fox News contributor Scott Brown who just happens to be running for the U.S. Senate in New Hampshire this fall. It turns out I was more right than I knew: Brown is actually using it as part of his campaign.

On Wednesday, President Obama delivered some remarks about the beheading of journalist James Foley by the Islamic group ISIS. Later that day, Fox’s Your World show discussed Obama’s remarks by “asking” if Obama was forceful enough and if he'd follow through. Fox chose two guests – one the phony Democrat Pat Caddell and the other, real Republican KT McFarland – to ensure the answer it wanted.

I wasn’t the only one who noticed Sean Hannity’s despicable treatment of Ferguson Committeewoman Patricia Bynes a few nights ago. The Young Turks’ Cenk Uygur took note and he didn’t mince words.

On Fox, Charles Gasparino and Stuart Varney discussed the $16.7 billion settlement between the Justice Department and Bank of America for selling “shoddy home loans,” as Varney put it. But then the two made out like the Justice Department was the real criminal.

Fox News never wastes an opportunity to promote their ongoing meme that Christians are being persecuted while African-Americans, who continue to be the real victims of systemic racism in our justice and economic systems, are portrayed as vicious thugs and violent takers. This morning's Fox & Friends, Roger Ailes' consigliore and Catholic Knight of Malta Peter Johnson Jr. featured the story of a poor Christian student who was suspended from a Tennessee school because she said "bless you" during a class. Of course there's lots more to the story - but this is Fox & Friends where things are kept quite simple....
