On Saturday’s Cashin’ In show, the panel discussed the EPA’s claim that it has authority to garnish wages without court approval. The discussion quickly turned into an indictment of the EPA. Host Eric Bolling set the tone in his opening when he said, “Well, save the polar bear but screw the taxpayer.”

For those of you who don’t know the name Holly Fisher, she’s also known as “Holly Hobby Lobby,” the “Christian Taliban” girl. Her moniker has given Fox & Friends a sad, so they decided to give her some air time for a little ass kissi - I mean, rehab.

Neil Cavuto’s first interview on Friday’s Your World was with immigrant-hating, Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio. The pretext for this “business story” was the government spending over $100 million a week taking care of 57,000 undocumented children. But clearly, the real intent was to fuel anger toward the Obama administration. And work in some props for Rick Perry.

Todd Akin is back and he has retracted his apology for saying, “If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.” And where better to rehab his image than on Fox News’ The Kelly File? Oh, sure, host Megyn Kelly asked a few challenging questions but it was clear that her heart – or paycheck – lay in helping him look good.  And helping him malign a few Democrats while he was at it.

Last week, Bob Beckel went on a tear against the Chinese which included using the ethnic slur, "Chinamen," against them, too. Today, in the wake of calls from Democratic politicians for his resignation, Beckel offered a phony apology for his remarks.

Mike Huckabee may have been a regular Joe back in 2008 when he boasted about staying in cheap hotels and running for president on a shoestring. But those days are long gone. Now, Huckabee seems firmly ensconced in the lifestyle of the one percent with what Politico calls a “private plane habit” and other luxuries. It’s a habit that not only belies his “aw shucks” image but also puts a strain on the coffers of those politicians and political causes that seek his help.

When European immigrants started coming to our shores in the 19th century, news media was used to spread toxic rumors about those who, according to the resident nativists, posed a real threat to the real American way of life. Among those who fear and loathe immigrants, not much has changed since the days of the anti-immigrant Know Nothing party except for a much greater media exposure in Fox News which has taken on the role of media mouthpiece for real American xenophobes. While Fox has consistently smeared "illegals," its anti-immigration agitprop has reached an all new low with the recent flood of undocumented children at the Texas border. In reprising the old school rumors about how immigrants spread diseases, Fox has given good Christian bigot and serial liar Todd Starnes a platform from which to spread the same kind of old school bile.

Nothing was a bigger blow to the News Hounds blog than the death of Deborah Yesner. She was especially dear to me and I still miss her. Deb's daughter, Alexis, was kind enough to send some thoughts on the anniversary of Outfoxed and News Hounds. I'm closing our anniversary celebration with them - even though Alexis was the first to respond to my invitation to participate - because I'd like it very much if you would hold Deborah in your thoughts as we go forward. It would have pleased her greatly.

Last night, Cumia got a friendly platform on Red Eye to deny he’s a racist, complain about being penalized for "just speaking his mind" and emphatically state that he will never apologize.
