Fox macho man and proud gay basher Tucker Carlson think gender neutral bathrooms are icky. And he's really pissed about gender neutral language. On a recent Fox & Friends he ranted about how Sen. Tim Kaine's inclusive phrasing is yet another example of diminished American manhood which, says Tucker, is being aided and abetted by the biology "denying" transgender community!
The morning after the vice-presidential debate, Tucker, Steve Doocy, and Brian Kilmeade did their Fox due diligence in praising GOP veep candidate, Mike Pence's awesome debate commentary. After they spread the big Fox/right wing/"pro-life" lies that Democratic veep candidate Tim Kaine supports taxpayer funded abortion and Hillary Clinton supports so called "partial birth abortion," the conversation turned to the evils of gender neutral language and Tim Kaine's use of it.
At about 2:28, video of Kaine, referring to himself as Clinton's "right-hand person" was shown. The banner: "Keeping It Neutral, Kaine Calls Himself HRC's 'Right Hand Person'." After some chortling from the guys, Carlson provided us with some partisan pontification: "Why do men have to neuter themselves to fit with progressive orthodoxy? I mean Tim Kaine is a man, why is it embarrassing to say that. He didn't choose to be a man, he was born that way, that's the biological reality that the rest of us are busily denying, but it doesn't make it any less true. Why should he have to pretend otherwise? You're wondering why men aren't voting for Hillary, why they're not. Maybe this is why."
Muy Macho Brian Kilmeade, in keeping with his always trenchant analysis, responded: "Right, if you're a man, admit you're a man, that's the message I get from Tucker Carlson, today." After Carlson screamed, "Why is it embarrassing anyway? It's not even your fault," Kilmeade said that he's "proud to be a man." Tucker followed with "it's fun to be a man, it's great." More metaphorical machismo towel snapping when Kilmeade asked Doocy if he is proud to be a man to which Doocy heartily responded in the affirmative. The banner: "Gender Jargon, Kaine Avoids Referring To Himself As Man."
Words do matter - especially when used to denigrate an entire group of people. When it comes to the transgender community, this isn't Tucker's first rodeo. He (Not kidding, wish I were) actually said, in May, that science doesn't support transgender as a gender identity. And I do find it ironic that Tucker and his boyz are celebrating their manhood at a "news" network that had been described as "a sex-fueled, Playboy Mansion-like cult, steeped in intimidation, indecency and misogyny."
And just an aside - if Tucker Carlson wants to get incensed about something he should save his wrath for the sexual abuse scandal at his high school alma mater, St. George's Prep School, one of whose headmasters, Tucker's father-in-law, is now under investigation by the Episcopal Church for not reporting the abuse to authorities when he led the school. I guess gender neutral language is what's really the problem....
