Outnumbered Gals Whine About Liberal Commencement Speakers

Jon Stewart summed it all up nicely: "That narrative of conservative victimization is the true genius of what Fox News has accomplished." Doing their best to advance this narrative, the Outnumbered gals provided us with a vintage Fox whine about the lack of conservative speakers at college graduations.

In 2014, Tucker Carlson and Caleb Bonham, from the uber right wing "Campus Reform," complained about how, because of liberal bias, conservatives are not invited to speak at college graduations. Monday's Outnumbered was more of the same - with a diss of John Kerry thrown in for good measure.

The segment began with video of John Kerry addressing the graduating class at NortheasternUniversity. Kerry described Donald Trump in unflattering terms and, worse, had the audacity to tell students that "you are Donald Trump's worst nightmare" Jedidiah Bila provided the requisite Fox spin: "John Kerry taking a shot at Donald Trump and getting political while addressing graduates of Northeastern University."

She cited "a new study" which finds that there are more liberal than conservative speakers at college graduations. The study that she cited was from - drum roll please - Campus Reform which considers authors, movie stars, and some corporate biggies to be unacceptably liberal.  Bila whined about how none of the top ranking schools have a conservative speaker at their graduations. (Awww....)

Bila spoke about how conservatives need to reach out to colleges because "academia is so one-sided." (Awww...) She suggested that academia fears the "diversity" that conservatives can bring. Kennedy quipped that when conservatives are invited, it causes a disruption on campus and then the speakers are disinvited. After saying that "it's a ridiculous environment across the board," she attacked Kerry over the "nonsocial" nature of his speech. Bila suggested that Kerry was advocating "violation of our laws" when he spoke about "borderless." (Fact Check - Kerry's quote - "You're about to graduate into a complex and borderless world.") Working in the requisite right wing antipathy towards Hollywood liberals, Sandra Smith noted that there would be "many" Hollywood liberals at the graduation ceremonies.(Awww...)

Bila again cited liberal bias in college classrooms and wanted to know the "impact" of the lack of conservatives. Harris Faulkner used a baking metaphor to explain how "if you put just one flavor of ingredients, you tell me how much it impacts this." On a network of, by, and for white people (Fox African-Americans aid and abet), Faulkner said "the end result here is always homogeneous...you want a society that is nimble...without those competitive views of thought, what are these kids learning." Juan Williams cited, as an example, a professor who is experiencing prejudice because he's a Christian.

Ain't no party like a persecuted Christian party and Fox News is bringing it!

There’s a runoff going on between FOX News’ “Outnumbered”, “The Five”, “Red Eye”, and “The Greg Gutfeld Show” as to which is the worst, most idiotic, and unwatchable show on television. Could we have a tie?

If 100% of college commencement speakers were Tea Party types channeling Ayn Rand would this even be a thing with the Foxies?

Who do kids want to hear? Pick any Republican with a national name. Or a Democrat like Bernie Sanders known to have great appeal to young people, the heart of his supporters? Or a celebrity who we know thanks to FOX are always liberal except for all the celebrities they bring on for circle jerks who aren’t.

Which is the point. Isn’t the FOX big meme ‘let the marketplace decide’ to justify their completely biased propaganda posing as news? If kids didn’t want to hear liberal commencement speakers they wouldn’t show up and colleges would have to change who they invite to speak.

Not to mention, a show like “Outumbered” where the only thing outnumbered is liberal thought and the truth doing a diaper fill over a lack of political diversity is an absolute hoot.

I will agree with the curvy couch crowd in one respect. Kerry shouldn’t have brought up partisan politics and directly attacked Donald Trump. This is a time to inspire graduates, not make a pitch for votes.
