As Newshounds Ellen reported, the annual Fox War on Christmas is in full attack mode. But praise Jesus, traditionalists have prevailed over the secularists who were thwarted in their attempt to ditch the traditional trees for something different at a North Carolina Mall. And Gretchen Carlson is very, very happy!
Today, during her softly spoken and very polite rant section ("Gretchen's Take") of her show, Gretchen Carlson informed us that after locals protested, the SouthPark (ironic, that!) Mall in Charlotte, NC took down their glacier themed holiday display and put up the requisite "traditional" Christmas trees. (Does Fox know that the Christmas tree is a Germanic, pagan thing?)
Gretch, who believes that the 1st Amendment doesn't apply on December 25th, began the bloviation: "Here we go again, corporations bowing to supposed political pressure to quietly take away the Christmas displays across the country. Apparently they thought no-one would notice. Yes, the movie Frozen was incredibly popular but that doesn't mean most Americans want to see a glacier display in malls instead of tradition."
She continued with her oh, so vaguely worded conspiratorial take with the comment that the aforementioned mall "claimed that they thought the new display would be "fresh and exciting adding that the reinvented modernized experience would bring the Charlotte community..." Gretch noted that when news of the display in Charlotte, and in another NY mall, got out, it spread "like wildfire on social media" and customers threatened to boycott the malls. As a result of this "chilly reception," the trees are going back up at both locations.
Gretch: "It really is silly, isn't it." She asked if "these companies think that the majority of Americans who want to see traditional displays are not going to speak up. Thankfully, after 17 days before Thanksgiving, their voices have been heard."
My Take - Wow. Gretch is no longer part of the propaganda driven Fox & Friends; but she still hasn't lost her propaganda driven mojo. Her very first comment set the Fox message that corporations are "bowing" to the evil forces of secularism - and, by extension, this is the reason for the changes at the two malls. Gretch obviously doesn't believe (and doesn't want you to believe) the mall president who said that the "decision wasn't intended to be secular." Gretch didn't mention that the sacred tree was intended to be a part of the Santa display.
Seriously, who give a flying f.....Yeah, Gretch, it is silly - and I'm looking at you!
Gretchen is extremely bright. So is another ditz Gretchen used to co-anchor with on “Fox & Friends”: Steve Doocy. But they both realize their audience is an older, slower crowd so they constantly talk down to them.
Wait, there’s days she realizes it applies to those with a differing opinion? Honestly, I’m surprised she hasn’t borrowed Jesse Watters to have him ask Jews why they insist on this Hanukkah thing. Though I’m sure this’ll be the year she starts that, assuming O’Reilly doesn’t do it first.
No, her editorial is more along the lines of O’Reilly constantly posturing as a traditional sort of guy.
