The talking heads on the so "fair & balanced" Fox News are always whining about media bias. So it was rather amusing to see Fox & Friends advance their narrative, that the mainstream media is "in the tank" for President Obama, with right wing columnist Mona Charen. And we know that she's not biased because her two books ("Useful Idiots: How Liberals Got it Wrong in the Cold War and Still Blame America First" and "Do-Gooders: How Liberals Harm Those They Claim to Help — and the Rest of Us") demonstrate some real journalistic objectivity. Just kidding.
On Friday, the segment began with a new and oh, so clever visual which has the names of various mainstream media outlets titled with "News Notworks." Brian Kilmeade cited a Fox News poll (No, not the one showing that Obama is ahead of Romney) but one in which respondents say that the evil, librul media is spending more time defending Obama and attacking Romney. (Awwww). He introduced Charen who said that with the exception of Fox, the press "leans to the left." As she spoke the chyron framed the requisite message: "Campaign Coverage, Is the Media Protecting the President?" She claimed that this year "it's reached the point where it is a kind of corruption." As she spoke of how this "rigs the game," the chyron reinforced the Fox message: "In the Tank? Charen: "Most Corrupt Press Corps Ever." She accused the press of covering for the president while "ganging up on Mitt Romney." (Awwww)
Kilmeade seemed almost hysterical as he urged Charen to talk about the press coverage of Romney's trip to Poland where he was embraced by Lech Walesa. Charen claimed that while the press ignored this awesome meeting, they focused on a "so call gaffe inLondonwhich was a minor thing." (Uh, he insulted the Brits about their Olympics and was pilloried by the British press and British politicians for it). The chyron presented as Fox fact "Media Bias Exposed, Charen: Attacks on Romney Overwhelming." She asserted that despite the press' coverage of the trip as "gaffe ridden," it was "highly successful" and that is speeches were "rapturously received." (I want some of what she's smoking?!)
Kilmeade, his face grower redder, whined that a recent example of press bias was when the press went after Romney for his response to the death of American personnel in Libya while ignoring Obama doing fundraising the day after these deaths. (Conservative Peggy Noonan called out Romney on this as did GOP. John Sununu, Tom Ridge and other anonymous Republicans) Charen provided more GOP spin with the statement that the President sent out UN Ambassador Susan Rice to "mislead the people." She accused Obama of making a gaffe when, in May, he referred to "Polish death camps" when they were Nazi death camps. She asked if that got coverage which was ironic given that she didn't mention that the President apologized. Kilmead agreed and said that most people don't know about it. (It was covered by ABC, CBS, and CNN)
So the mainstream media is biased? Really? Can somebody give me an LOL?!
Once again Brian and Co., just let rMoney take responsibility for his own life. If you always make excuses for him he’ll become, well, dare we admit it, he’ll become a person who doesn’t take charge of his life, you know, Mitt will be a 47%er. So please Fux, let Mitt stand up on hiz own two balls/legs and speak fer hizself.
That certainly describes the Rupert Murdoch Empire of phone hacking, police & political bribes and cover ups. Brian is a well paid and supportive part of that Empire of Deceit so we can expect him to be headed for Hell when his expiration date is due.
