Every year, on the anniversary of Roe v Wade, those in the anti-choice movement take their protest signs and rosaries and head down to Washington DC to participate in the March for Life in protest of a woman's right to an abortion. Every year, they whine about how the mainstream news networks ignore them. Every year, Brent Bozell's right wing media "watchdog" group, "Newsbusters," runs a piece that whines about the lack of coverage. And this year, Fox "news" person, Bret Baier, did a "Grapevine" report sourced from "Newsbusters." It gets better. According to Newsbusters, Fox "asked" Newsbuster Tim Graham for a quote. And silly me, I thought Bret Baier was an official Fox "news" person who is part of the official Fox "fair & balanced" "news" format.. But as it provided agitprop to vilify the hated librul media and a nice shout-out to Fox's "pro-life" fans, it was all good.
Last night, Baier reported that Fox's Shannon Bream covered the "pro-life" (not "anti-abortion") march. He noted that "if you were watching the big three broadcast networks, you wouldn't have heard a peep." The background visual had the offending networks' logos superimposed over a photo of some marchers with "mum's the word" underneath. Getting in a slam on the hated NY Times, Baier said that "you would have been in the dark if you read the print version of the NY Times, not one word." Baier reported that the Washington Examiner noticed that the evil NY Times had photos of only pro-choicers and didn't include those who are pro-life until the slide show was updated. He quoted from the MediaResearchCenter. Oh, stop the presses, please.
Baier committed the most mortal media sin according to the gospel of "Newsbusters." They are constantly braying about how the evil, librul media doesn't properly identify their evil, librul sources and interviewees as being liberal. Baier didn't modify "Media Research Center" and Washington Examiner with the word "conservative." Oh, bless him fatha Bozell for he has sinned!!!!
This is the quote, from Tim Graham of the right wing "Media Research Center" and right wing "Newsbusters" (Both connected to Bozell) : "Tens of thousands bravely keep coming to the capital in all kinds of bad weather every January full aware that the supposedly objective national media will pretend they don't exist."
Awwwww, poor pro-lifers were ignored by the evil, librul media. Meanwhile, the supposedly "fair & balanced" Fox "News," runs a hit piece on the evil, librul media using material and a quote from a clearly partisan source. Got hypocrisy?
And funny, in Graham's article he provided his full quote. If you didn't actually view the video you would have thought that Baier read it in its entirety. However, he left out the first sentence in which the phrase "abortion on demand" might have been too biased for even Fox News. Can we say that Fox News has its limits? Nahhh....
